Cambelt (Including Tensioners)
Water Pump
Auxillary Belt

£399 supplied and fitted at Audi Main Dealer.

Which I thought was a fair price, to say they want £190 to supply the parts.

Whilst on the phone I asked how much it would be to do the thermostat at the same time.. 5mins later after being on hold i was told £254.10

Now I dont know if he thought I meant to price that up on its own, but I did say whilst doing the cam belt
i was actually offended

Prices a bit strange! Booked mine in today at stafford audi

£275 for the cambelt change and an extra £80 for the water pump. No extra labour for changing the pump.

I got mine done at Votex in Congleton (Audi specialist) for £120 labour only.

The parts came to around £140 inc water pump and aux belt.

guys you have missed the point of the post...the thermostat cost????? that sounds ridiculous!! is it as hard to fit on the TFSI then? the 8L was an **** to get at.....

I just had my 8L S3 done at Midland VW, had the cambelt, Vee belt, waterpump, rollers, tensioners, antifreeze, hydraulic damper as well and had my thermostat done at the same time, all came in at £370 (Parts and Labour)

Excellent service from those guys as always. :)

Midlands VW mate, parts were probably nicked from the poor sod with an S3 around the corner ;)

Oh and im sure if you search on Ebay for Audi Cambelt Change, you can get some dealers doing some good deals on there.

Dependant on your car and location, it might be worth looking at a reputable Independant.

What you mean Tim??

They have an excellent rep, not all of the Midlands is ghetto you know....ya get me ;) LOL

hey *hands up* no disrespeck bro..... ****...what am i worried about, you cant steal my car anymore :)

that's the £399 price. yet when i rang them up to book it he said its £449 over the phone. £399 via ebay only... Pointless or what.

im still lost as to why a thermostat at the same time as doing the other work is an extra £250

yeah cos ebay costs more to advertise on - espcially as they will be charged fees for the ebay sale, idiots :)

I would double check that price about the Stat, try calling again, or try a different dealership and see what they say price wise.

Oh and Tim I know where you live :moa:

Why would you want the thermostat replacing ? Nothing to do with the cambelt/waterpump afaik ?

I paid £30 for the thermostat from Glasgow Audi and changed it myself. Had to jack the car up, remove the throttle body and alternator, and then struggled removing some of the hose clips. Much better now though.
