I'd not bother tbh...... they look mint but are pointless unless your tracking the car, your not gonna get anywhere near the full benefit on public roads, and if you do....you shouldn't be driving IMO

Another consideration is ancillary costs, a little bird told me that an RS4 front disc/pad OEM set up is over £1k fitted, that aint cheap when it comes to changing the damned things - thats one of the main reasons i've decided against an RS4.....

conclusion - if it's looks you want, go 'balls deep'!! if it's stopping power your lacking but need, then go nuts!! otherwise forget it, far more thrilling things in life to waste money on

although that said, i was lucky to find the ex head chief mechanic from my local Audi dealer many years ago (does most of my work)... he used to get trade from TPS that nobody i know has ever gotten...TPS have several different variants of trade, walking in with a VAT number doesn't work, another mate works at a performance specialist and even he cant get anywhere near the same prices...... one to watch out for

unfortunately his contact has now left TPS...and so normal trade prices ensue brill whilst it lasted, got a full set of mats for the 8L for £45!! aongst many other things...... saved me a fortune over the years

ok here is what i had fitted to my car this afternoon, sorry about the quality and cant do a full write up yet due to a few other issues, but here is a little taster....

yea they feel strong, but as the discs are a little warped, which i was told about on purchase, till i get them skimmed wont be able to get their full potential, and as my car got quite sick on the way home i didnt get to try and enthusiastic driving to see how they may have improved turn in, acceleration etc... hopefully if the car is better tomorrow ill give some more feedback

I'm sure that those of you that know me will know I took the advice of a few others around here and chose the VWRacing kit for mine.

No problems fitting the kit at all,and on the most recent of the kits,the bellhousing has been designed so that you don't need spacers or any other nonsense to clear the wheels,although the clearance between calipers and wheels is tight,but very neatly done.

I've used Alcon and AP setups on previous cars,and I can happily say that this setup is as good and a very effective one for a fast road car,as well as having the endorsement of the same setup being used on VWR's race series cars,albeit with different pads.

It doesn't fade,doesn't squeal or snatch,and just gets better as you get them hot.

I'm not a race driver like Jonny,but I do know a decent set of brakes,and his advice was spot on.
