Wifes new car

keep us posted as my wife wants one but it wont be tell August 201, when she starts her new job
 
Be sure to post some pictures up when it arrives, I've seen a couple on the road now and I must say, I'm very impressed! I'll be very interested in one of these if they go on to make the S1 or even the RS1.
 
Just been told that due to the weather (easy excuse) it won't be here until next week at the earliest, also got told that if we paid by bankers cheque then it would take 10 days to clear, since when, i thought bankers cheques were as good as cash.
 
Poor news. Pics though when you do get it please. Saw one the other day and look really nice.

Why not just move the money in your bank to your current account and use your maestro/switch card? Instant.

Thats what we're doing, i just always thought that bankers cheques were guaranteed.
 
my friend got his a1 sline 1.4. pretty rapid. equal to my 2.0 fsi petrol, but more economical. Very nice car, love the multimedia interface

nah there've been a few scams with banker's cheques lately. apparently they can be forged so ppl were buying cars with them, and then when the person or organisation cashed them the bank told them they were forgeries (usually after a few days when they'd figured it out themselves the forgeries were so good). by then the car was long gone.

Its finally at the dealers but we can't have it yet as it needs checking. My wifes like a little kid waiting for it, its the first new car we've bought. She thinks its going to be as fast as mine though because hers is an S as well and all S's are fast, bless her.

ash mini's are still crap lol , i was in bridgend audi last week picking up a car for work and i was looking around a white s-line 1.4t they had there very nice car has to be said very smart looking in s-line form get some picys up when ur wife has finally got it

No just normal lights, we didn't really have a choice what the car came with as it was already made but the only option we'd have got would of been climate. We went for this one as my wifes old car was dieing so we needed one quite quickly and it was the right colour.

Was only asking as I am yet to see them, hope you enjoy the car! Certainly looks superb from the outside, good choice

I noticed whilst looking round one at the local dealer that the Xenons with LED DRLs are nearly £1100 on the A1 !!

Do like the A1 though. It's obviously targetted at the Mini and, IMO, it has a major advantage just by virtue of being new and relatively rare - the Mini is so ubiquitous these days.
 
After a week of running it, she is really enjoying it. Fuel consumption is about 29mpg but she only drives 7 miles to work, we got 38mpg on a longer drive at the weekend. Her only criticism is that it feels small inside and that the boot is a little bit too small to fit anything of a useful size in (she used to have an MGZR that swallowed all amounts of her work equipment)

+1 - I was at my Audi garage last Saturday as I had to take my car in, there was an SLine A1 there in Daytona Grey (Stunning Colour) with piano black inlays - Safe to say I was even more impressed after a good nose around! I'm really hoping they bring out an S1 because I may interested. Where did you see it in orange?
 
Im really warming towards these A1's. So small but cool. Was seriously contemplating chopping in the S3 and downgrading to save abit of money but after I configured one to my spec omg it came to like £20k :w00t: ..for that little thing! ..Hardly a downgrade..safe to say I tucked myself back into bed andwoke up..must of been sleepwalking and ended up on the laptop.
 
You're right they are definitely not cheap,! I reckon you need to be a bit of an Audi fanatic otherwise there is better value around. Having said that, the thrill of driving a new car when there aren't many on the road put's a the smile back on your face that your bank statement wiped off!

Too true. I'm just waiting for my amalfi White 1.4tfsi Stronic to arrive gone for a few extras too so thats bumped the price up. I'll be sorry to see the A3 go but the smile on my face as I drive the new one out of the showroom will be huge. It starts getting built today. I ordered it back in October. Always wanted march 1st delivery so been a long wait. Now it's getting closer to getting it I'm a little happy to say the least
 
Quick update: after a year and 14,000 miles she is really enjoying the car, although the love affair has just been soured as her EPC light has come on. After a quick google it seems that it is usually the injectors or a coil. Booked in for tomorrow.
 
Lovely car, love the A1.

Shame about the EPC issue. Coils /plugs/ injectors really seem to be an Achilles heel in the VAG range right now. Hope it gets sorted quickly.
 
audi upgrades
Just ordered an A1 2.0 TDI Black Edition which is due to arrive 26th May. Will be my first diesel and I hope I'm not making a mistake getting rid of the S3!!!!!! Thought it time to save some money on fuel and the Audi finance seems very attractive just now..... only went into Audi to service my S3, didn't even consider an A1 and now I've bought one!!! Oooops!!!!!
