Lets get it on then, My 2.1 conversion

I dont know.. but you will have to let us know.
depends on what manifold pressure there is internally for the air to want to find another way out via external gate...

I hope not but i'm sure CTS have done there home work??

I'll keep you posted as i know you have the same cast manifold in your workshop and sure you will want to try it some day.

so what kinda power figures will you be looking at when its all finished then?

mechanical porn love it!

I would be happy with 400+ The GTX3076r is rated at 630bhp i think i would have to fit large injectors if i want more

The mass airflow spec of a GT3076 from what I have seen so far is approx 52lb/min... Garrett say that you get approx 9.5-10.5 bhp per lb/min of flow... so that would suggest the GT3076 is good for something between 494bhp and 546bhp depending on the spec...

The 0.63 hotside will limit high end power though but will make the car more drivable

<tuffty/>

I'm getting the GTX3076r not the GT3076r

Ok, that appears to be in the region of 64lb/min then looking at the compressor map I just found... so 608bhp to 640bhp then... should be interesting :)

Hotside will ultimately kill off top end power but should drive nice especially with the 2.1 :thumbsup:

Be good to see what this is capable of..

<tuffty/>

Im busy building up my S3 with that manifold and GT30. I only got the manifold from CTS as i had the rest of the hardware (turbo/wg etc).

Did you buy the kit with the downpipe included? I was tempted to go for their downpipe but buying it seperately was going to cost nearly double what it will to have a custom one made over here.

Great thread!

Total flow and boost dependant of course... that power is assuming quite a lot of boost..

Lower boost pressure will achieve the 400 to 500bhp range Andrew is after...

I haven't seen any test results for the EFR Turbo yet, It will be a good turbo for sure but i don't want to be one of them people that gets the first ones and something bad happens.

efr look interesting and likely excellent, however at a price, and Engineered For Racing are aimed at racers

Thats what i thought

If it went wrong it would be very expensive to repair and how many people in the uk would repair it?

At least with the GT and GTX range we all know are reliable and not as much to repair, many places in the uk and repair or overhaul/service them.

EFR turbo is destined for my racecar during this year, so i can see how it compares... significant reworking of my installation... EFR are large units physically.

With the turbo power range from 400-500bhp i'm now thinking that the 630cc injectors may be on there limit at 450bhp and thinking about going to Siemens 80lb (870cc) High-Impedance Fuel Injectors? so i might be able to see 500bhp?

Just a small update as some may know i got my GTX3076r and kit from CTS in Canada, also placed a order for some 870cc injectors, supertech valve springs and titanium retainers.

Did a little dummy build of the manifold, looks like i may have to mill the head to clear the down pipe but no biggy

I'll update a little more later on

that turbo really does look big now its on a manifold and up against the head you can get a real life size felling of it now... your guna have some big figures here i think

Its a 4 inch inlet so you get a idea from that. I can even give the turbo a good fisting:blink::blush:
lol wow thats massive then considering on the k04 we have to fit adapters just to fit the 3inch tip

Looking forward to seeing this finished...
Quickest 8L in the UK with original engine?..

Original engine

It doesn't have the APY block anymore as its a BAM block, the head is also none APY its still small port and i do plan to fit a large port if i do come across one cheap

fantastic work you're doing here Andrew, when do you hope to have it running with the new turbo?

I just meant as opposed to the 2.7TT conversion or turbo'd R32 engine, but I couldn't say 1.8T as yours ain't 1.8!
