Hey guys long time reader first time poster,

Just wondering if any1 had mapped there 1.4T at AMD?

I'm close to the new AMD in amersham and am considering a remap in feb.

They state they can get 60hp and 60ft is this realistic? I know of a tuning company in Germany that can get 200hp out of this engine,

And one other question... Forge do a twintercooler for the vw 1.4tsi (non supercharged) does this fit the audi?

Comment guys give me some feedback! :)

first welcome to the forum second i think 60hp is a bit optimistic but it all depends on how much they charge and what they do for the money i suppose

Hey, cheers

Yeh I think it does to, I've been speaking to ABT to and they claim the can get 160hp out of the engine total, so around and extra 30 horses it's believable that companies can draw alot out of this engine, but this company in Germany BB automobile technik say with the exhaust system and intake and cooler they provide they can get 200hp and 295nm of torque! Which is impressive!

wow that is impresive but a very big but its still a 1.4 do you want to be putting that much power through a 1.4 it seams alot to me to be honest , my mate has got a 2009 mk6 vw golf gt 1.4tfsi and that has got 160hp as standard and its a nice amount of power just enough i think

60hp in just a map on an engine that small i think is being a bit optimistic!! thats about what you would expect if you were lucky mapping an S3 and there is a lot more potential in tuning that engine then a 1.4,
is that just the info on their site or have you called them?
on a good map i would expect anywhere between 10-20% power increase would be what you should be expecting without any additional mods. but with a map, it isnt really about headline figures, its more about how it changes the driving characteristics of the car which are normally amazing!

+1

Yeh I know it's optimistic but if I can hope for 160 I'd b happy! it drives well now I just find thy it a bit sluggish from 1000 to about 3000 then there's a lovely boost then about 5000 5500 it dies a little, I'm not looking for s3 power just a bit of extra poke! Any1 got an idea about this forge cooler? check on the forge site? I suppose an email wouldn't hurt but it fits the Scirroco 2, and I'm guessing the 1.4tsi (non superchaged) is exactly the same engine??

try having a 1.6fsi then they are so slow its unbelevable but tis good on fuel so cant complain too much eh lol , ive been toying with the idea of getting mine remapped to give it little bit more power but not sure if its worth it on a non turbo car

haha na u wont get the power of a S3, but what you will find is they powerband, will shift both up and down the rev range and it will be a much smoother delivery as well, to be honest i think a cooler may be a bit overkill on an engine like that, imho your money would be better spent on a CAI and full exhaust system, both of these will help the turbo spool earlier and more aggressively and carry the power for longer with a higher level of boost

not worth it man... before swapping to a 2.0T i thought long and hard about modding my 1.6 but ultimately it's money thrown away. you're better off saving for a more powerful machine when the time comes. in fact i regret going for the 2.0T even. if i'd been a little more patient i'd have saved the money for an S3 by now lol

yeah thats what i thought but wont be changing it for a few more years got to pay off the finance first then im going to decide on if im buying a new car or sticking with this one for a little while longer we'll , i would love a S3 tho but the 8p2 shape not the 8p3 one

dont know i just prefer them they stand out a little more i think weird i know just a little bit more special i think lol

thought you would agree jungleman lol the 8p3 S3 doesnt look that different from a s-line to me you can tell the 8p2 S3 is an S3 i think audi should have made the 8p3 more different like they did on the 8p2 , yes you can tell the 8p3 is an S3 but in my opinion its just not that obvious

i know what you mean,
for me i just dont like the LED DRL's and as well, where youve got the 'air intakes' on the bottom of the bumper, on the 8P2 they look more RS inspired where as on the 8P3 they look smaller and have those lines carried across from the fogs for me, ruins the lines, admittedly when i bought my S3 i was limited to the 8P2 by budget, but if i had the extra money, i still would have gone for it

Probably cost Sub.

What changed with Haldex from 8P2 to 8P3?????

the implication was if he had the choice he'd go for 8P2.

the Haldex went from Gen 2 to Gen 4 for the 8P3 it's a bit quicker at transferring power apparently, but i've only ever driven an 8P2 quattro so i can't speak from experience.

Gotta agree with all of that. I started off with a 2.0FSI, was going to do some mods, but traded it in for a 2.0T instead. But already i'm sniffing around S3's.
Wish I waited a few more months and really looked at the S3 route. Not sure why I didn't to be honest.

Guess I could still trade in my 2.0T but I'm finding it hard to justify owning a third 8P in the space of little more than a year.

or you could just put a haldex controller on it and make it really handle properly!!

+1 LOL

considering we've bumped heads before we seem to have similar tastes (and vices) when it comes to cars lol

P77HLP - if you do get a remap done there let me know how you got on as im just down the road from there and am considering getting my 2.0 TDI mapped there as well

well im down at AMD but the essex branch tomorrow, if i remember ill ask them what it actually makes on their rollers and let you know

Yeh that would be good if you could! If it makes 150 on the rollers I'd be pleased and straight off to amersham AMD! as I said I'm not looking for crazy power just a bit more in the low and mid range...

So lemme know jungleman! And get back 2 me!

****** sorry forgot to ask, was in a bit of a mood due to a slight **** up on a brake kit i bought (not from AMD) im back there on thursday so will ask them then... promise haha

Haha that's fine m8 no worries, where abouts you from? AMD down in Essex I take it ur off too?

yea im a south london boy, so AMD Essex is only like 20 miles, and at the time i leave in the morning it doesnt take that long to get there
they are a good bunch in their and really know their stuff!!
