just a quick one really had my new clutch fitted on my s3 yesterday i went for the c g fast road kit.reason i went for this thinking of a few mods so went for a better clutch, cost £200 with release bearing plus fitting.not gave it full beans yet because they say to run the clutch in for a few hundred mile.:s3addict:

Got a link mate? You running a DMF or SMF with it?

I was gonna go for one of these in my A3 but read it can only handle 25% more torque then standard, so didn't really expect to be able to take much more abuse then an OEM clutch in my tuned motor

Im running a CG fast road in my S3 running 281 absolutely fine.. Very good Quality Kit

did you have it fitted at clutch specialists ??? didn`t realise how close they are to me might consider them when I do mine eventually. :)

I spoke to these guys a while ago, about an uprated clutch for my landrover, and tbh i didnt really think they had a clue what they were talking about.

I asked how much torque it would handle, because it would be going on a landrover gearbox with an audi engine attached, and he answered "300horsepower" I tried pointing out that a clutch doesnt deal in horsepower, it deals with torque, and a Honda VTEC producing 300hp will produce much less torque than a 2.5TDI producing 300hp. He then fluffed about and said "300ft lb" in a pretty flippant manner. I asked if it was an organic disk, and he said no it would be a 6 paddle to handle that sort of power (again, power...).

I asked if he could make a organic clutch with a high clamp cover, and tried explaining the original Audi clutch was the same size and handled the torque fine with an organic disk, and he said no he couldnt.

I gave up at that point.

Aragorn.

U must of got them on a bad day...!!!

I have used them for a good while now with many different performance cars always found the guya at CG very helpful

A lot of tuning companies I deal with use them also.

Come highly recko from me... excellent quality and prices.

Bargain.. most places won't touch for less than 350 as approx 7hrs work.

Dave...

As mine i dont see why people always seem to change the dmf as to be honest unless cars been hammered to death usually absolutely fine..

My S3 had just over 111k on it when the clutch was done Standard Dmf was absolutely fine

Swear half the tuners/clutch people just like ripping people off... So hard to find honest garages nowadays..

And u know what im like anything that needs doing gets done..

Have u got the map redone yet to make the most of your mods inc your nice Tip..

Pete

cheers lads im gonna grab one of these this year. my clutch is on its way out and for an extra £40 it seems worthwhile over standard

A bargain Clutch fitter here by the sounds of things for u guys up north....

Ah wondered if it was the guy at outwood, a lot of lads use him as we work on junction 41 ind est. I used him for my first service as I wanted a stamp in the book. He annoyed me when he put his diagnostics machine on my roof. I used to get my millers oil from him as he was the cheapest around.

Did he track the car up after fitting the clutch ???

ah wondered as I didn`t see if he could do 4 wheel alignment but might have basic tracking gear.

He`s tucked down a little road off the main road isn`t he ???
