Black wheels on ablack car - what do you think?

Depends on the car and the car wheels.
IMO I think black alloys wheels can look like black steel wheels with out the wheel trim on.
Get some pics up of the car and the wheels your thinking of.

Some good points there chaps - it is my car (Black Convertible) and Black BBS CH 19" wheels with the car lowered is my wish list - but I am torn between black or silver.......
Just on a seperate point - I will be runnng stretched 19x215x35 tires and spacers will be fitted as well for a better look.

I'd say Black for sure but not with the stretched look on the tyres. Stick some 245's on them, looks fat from the back...
Choosing the right wheels is doing my head in more than the wife!!!
PS. I still want to get that ARB from you mate, sorry I havn't been in touch recently, I got married at Christmas! Could you let me know the cost of some B7 Rear Lights for my cab as well please? Cheers in advance - also, how often do you come to Notts/Clifton?
Black defo if it's the ch wheel I'm gonna be getting some of these (not genuine bbs) on my avant they look the ******** man but I'm with pjmspeedy mate not a fan of streched tyres on a bigger car like the a4 ok for a3 golf ect

id go with silver chris to go with the chrome bits or even chrome (has that been done before?) might be a bit pimpin for most but i reckon u could pull it off.
Black on black is a bit over kill Chris and you also lose the detail in the alloys.
I'd go for a dark grey or anthracite like my alloy goes well with my lava grey A3. Thats if you want a dark colour.

silver from me, not really a fan of dark wheels (even though mine are dark, they'll be getting painted soon)

Normally I think they'd look awesome in black, but I think on a black car like yours the contrast with silver would be the way to go.

Chris if you are going for a stretched look a deep dish wheel would look loads betteR, With a deep dish wheel you can have the best of both world's Black center's and a nice polished/silver rim.
I dont like black wheels
it kills the wheel detail and also makes the tyre and wheel look like one big lump
as theres no definition between tyre and wheel unless the wheel design allowed for a polished or machined lip .

Black on black crime.Yeaahhh go for it...black wheels will go out of fashion much quicker i recon! silver is the conserative approach! black does make m look smaller! and who wants smaller wheels????????????

I think it's going to be silver with 235/35 tyres - but I may play a little and go for a very striking silver finish (the sort that blinds you when caught in the sun!)

if you go black they will look smaller, but the ch have a silver pinstripe so wont be that bad, silver will match the trim

Same here. I fancy black rims, think they can look great on a black car. Would like some with the red pinstripe too
Dont know if its of any interest to anyone, (was thinking Sinic as it looks as though he has the same wheels) Ive just sprayed the 17" sport wheels in BMW Sparking graphite and they came out ok, probably slightly darker than I was going for. As already said, I think black wheels can be abit too much on a black car.

That's a brave mod. Looks quite nice but would like to see better pictures.
I think only certain black wheels on black cars look good, not full gloss either, although Black chrome powder coat wheels are very nice to.
I recently saw some black wheels on a black car that had a red pinstripe round the edge and it looked great.
