Hi guys

Ive had permission.... i mean ive told the wife that before we buy a new house that i need to buy a nice audi that i will keep.

I know theres apparently a 2012 maybe 2011 new A3 at some point but in the meantime im just doing my homework whether to order for sept 2011...im thinking Black Edition with the tech pack since its a bargain (for £1600!) as i have to keep the car for some years now.....:crying:

My current car is a 59 plate 2.0Tdi Sport Sportback with xenons, 5 spoke alloys, bt low in arm rest, storage pack. I love the car and to be honest i can see me getting the same again. Was thinking of Black Edition but the piano black inlays are a pain in the *** to keep clean which puts me off a bit.

Anyone got any advice for delivery times...ive heard some shockers like 7 months for some models my mate got his Golf Gti after 6 months so i was wondering what stock and factory order levels are these days...

Brothers 2.0 tdi Black edition was ordered end of august expected delivery march. They did originally say January so he's not very happy.

As i thought..was his standard spec factory order or lots of options?? Also what kind of discount did he get? Ive read theres loads of BE in dealer stock which im hoping might be a bargaining point for price

There are not 'loads of BE' in stock!! Who told you that?

A mate who went to a local audi dealer who was told theres loads of stock levels...thought it was odd as the waiting lists ae months....then again the same dealer wanted over £450 a month for a BE so i think that sums up the level of service he got!

I ordered an A3 140bhp S-Line sportback (no extras) in July 2010 , expected delivery end of March 2011 (un-confirmed) 8 months on order not Happy!!

What?! Which dealer or broker did you use?

There aren't loads. Maybe an odd 'orphan' as always but certainly not loads.

I ordered an A3 SB BE 2.0TDI 170 S-Tronic with Open Sky, Full Vienna Leather etc etc etc on Aug 5th and is being delivered end of March. I pick up my courtesy car provided by Audi on Thursday. So I am looking at a 7.5 month wait for mine.

I got 10% discount and they also threw in the VPP and Metalmate.

End of July order, build week 7. Loan car for a month now. OK PX, good discount + VAT increase paid so about same wait as JBS.

I suspect they will want a few BE's on the street when RS3 is out.

This is interesting. i assume they are building another batch of UK sportback black editions in late Feb/early March then as i didn't order mine until early October but am still being told end of March for delivery. That would make mine just under 6 months.

Still totally unacceptable!!!

His is a sportback with a few bits but not loads of kit. He got 10% in the end maybe 11% seems to be pretty standard amount to expect off. That's what I got on mine as well. Worth the wait though!!! Just hope they pull their finger out when it comes to the new a3 platform also add some more bits that appear as standard on cars like the golf and even fiats now!!!

Interesting....tempted to hold on for the new model but the trouble is it seems as though its taking forever so i cant hold on that much longer especially as the car will take months by the sounds of it!

Slightly off thread does the BE bluetooth still work by voice control. I have the bluetooth prep low in at the moment with cradle in the arm rest and it does there..

Ordered my in mid April'10 last year and picked it up on 4th Jan'11. Car was built at the end of Nov'10 and was at the dealers mid Dec'10 but waited till 2011 registration. Had a hire car from Audi for 4 months and saved 14% of list price.

I have asked the question too. No one seems to know... BUT I've just been and checked the loaner we have with BT only (no prep in armrest) Press the right hand thing in wheel and Speak appears , please say a command/// the phone book is empty so maybe it does??.

Yes it is voice control.

Its being supplied by a lease company (as its a work vehicle) through the Audi Dealer in Hereford. So there won't be any discounts etc as I still have my current lease car until the new one arrives. It would be nice to have some freebee extras for the inconvience etc, it was ordered so delivery would coinside with the collection of my current vehicle, but this hasn't worked out!! To be honset it would just be noce for the person dealing with the fleet orders to answer my emails, sent one last week and nothing!!

I can confirm that the BT work with the voice control.

I ordered late October and was given a estimated delivery time of June. I phoned up, and I was given a unconfirmed build date of 24th Janurary (04 built week).

A few weeks later I phoned up (again!) to see if they had a confirmed build date, they said they did of the original date (24th Jan).

However, I didn't get the Black Edition, it is a S Line with extras but with the 1.4 TFSI engine.

Everytime I read these posts, it concerns me. If it's confirmed can it still change, as the women on the phone said it is confirmed and will NOT change.

What do you think?

If it's confirmed it will not change....

Ah ok thanks! I just see members of the forum having delays, but when I went into the showroom, I was told there is a massive demand on Sportbacks, and Black Editions! I'll probably give them a call after the 4th week to see what the progress is! :)

All I need now is some S3 pedals - I have had some White trim Audi mats being made :):)

My car was confirmed at week 46 last year. Then when I called that week see if it was built, it went to week 47.

It wont change now as per pilot audi they said that with my current A3 it was its unconfirmed every time then i rang few weeks later yes its confirmed and yes it was exactly as they said..it happened v quickly car built in matter of a couple of days ie from confirmation to "its at the port" i was like thats quick. A few days later it was at the dealers !

Can anyone tell me any good internet brokers theyve used recently before i start the process of ringing the dealer wait for a call back..no call back ...ring back...no call back and so the audi sales technique goes on until i get that fed up i go down to the dealer only to be ignored like im the invisible man only to ask for sales...only to be told theyre busy heres a brochure. Or if youre "lucky" enough to speak to someone they say heres the list price...to which i reply thats great but whats your best price to which they reply the list price is the best price before some 60 minutes after i walked in i walk out thinking that was a waste of an hour of my life or am i just being to cynical because of my experiences?????:keule:

Bought my current A3 from Orangewheels and theyre were top notch spot on for anyones information deffo recommend and on my research so far they look like the cheapest again...

I used Drive the Deal and saved over 13% after the list price increase.

Take it from me, I had no luck with dealerships. I went into 2 seperate dealerships, and one at Burnley turned round and went 'you won't get any discount off an A3'. So push came to shove, I E-Mailed all the Audi dealships in the region - I had a dealer trying to make a deal on a A1 - £2000 more than the list price!! I had abit of luck with one dealer but he said he can't say, but he wants to meet me - I didn't even bother in the end. I asked on the phone can you meet it, and he went 'errr well I don't see why not'. If your not looking for an A3 in particular, I would recommend a VW Scirocco. I phoned the VW dealership and over the phone they said straight away, if you order today, I will meet it - and you can have a test drive!!

I turned to the broker, as I wanted the Audi in the end - after much hard decission making! I phoned the brokers, and I must say UKNewCars were excellent over the phone - they knew everything, but they werent the cheapest. I went through Drive The Deal, and the price at the start was wrong - after the price increase we came to an agreement at a few hundred less than the agreed price -even though Audi had sent the paperwork for the wrong price!! After that, everything has ran smoothly. At the start, they rung to confirm the order, and that the dealership will be in contact soon. The dealship rung (a couple of hours away) and confirmed the order and sent the paperwork to sign (second copy after price change). After this, the order seems to be going to plan and the women who I am dealing with is excellent.

I recommend Drive the Deal!!

Typically after order you will get unconfirmed and a few weeks later closer to production 'confirmed' after which no changes can be made. Even when confirmed the date can change to an earlier date, never known it to move to a later date after 'confirmed' status reached.

No worries! Best of luck, I didn't know about orange wheels at first, but found them expensive - Think it was about £600 more if I remember correctly? My dealer is a couple of hours away, but they offered me a transport - costs only, or it to be driven up free of charge (no thanks!!). So i'm in two minds of picking it up, or having it delivered!

Er if it was me id be picking it up...any probs you can refuse to accept it there and then and also spend time looking round to make sure its right (which im sure it will be!). Also i find it part of the buying process...all that money... pulling up seeing it sat there other people walking past and noticing it and then you drive it away... just me probably...ill keep you posted!

Just spoke to dealer about a black edition 2.0tdi Sportback. Hes quoted me £23k and a factory order will be here on 1st May according to computer if it was placed today... he will go a couple of hundred less on the price but thats it....still toying with the figures

Was looking at standard spec just specifying ice silver and also the luggage pack i think or the storage pack i cant remember which he has a red one in so was looking at factory order first of said yeah theres long waiting list then put in an order as an example and it came out 1st may delivery...trouble i the cost was a lot more than i was thinking to shell out for another A3 current one is only 16 months old anyway ill have to work out some figures i think...

Is that for the 140bhp model? and which Audi dealer is that with?

Discount seem about average. Have you tryed few other dealers?

No but i will do though see how land lies in other places...not been back to orangewheels yet i think their dealer for where i am in yorkshire is midlands somewhere..
