it can be done as long as you have the right clocks
the immobilser needs to be reprogramed
if you fit them the car wont start

shark performance can do it
you need more than vcds

by right clocks what do you men? my car is b6 a4 tdi 2.5 they from a b7 tdi not ure on engine but wasnt a 2.5 will they work?? any idea on the sort of price to fit?? how come clocks work withimmobiliser what an **** lol

Immobiliser is part of the instrument cluster on many audi models .

did audi try to make all there cars modified unfriendly lol.
so anyone know if these will work?

Personally I'd say safety, and I can see why they tie it to the immobiliser. It'd be too easy to swap clocks for a lower mileage otherwise.

Having said that, it seems most cars these days are nicked with the keys first so if they get your keys what's an immobiliser gonna do? Ha

Sorry to dig this thread up, but can the Colour DIS Screen not be fitted to original instrument cluster?

Well all I know is that you need the clocks off a b6, b7 wont fit. Also you'll need clean immobiliser pastilles (or whatever they are called...) as they will have to be re-programmed and VCDS won't manage, VAS would come in handy I'd say

You can't just chuck a colour sceeen on a non-colour DIS, the connections are totally different.

I was told by Shark performance that a B7 cluster would physically fit, but to get them to work the immobiliser needs to be disabled - not recommended for obvious reasons.

For reference, any B6 diesel cluster will fit any B6 diesel, regardless of engine size. B7's are different, for example, my friend can't get a 2.0TDI B7 instrument cluster going in his 3.0 TDI B7 (There was some kind of change - software or hardware? - sometime in 2006... we think!)

Unless you drive a BMW... but let's not go there!
