Hey eeryone havent been on here in a long time and i have a rather long story for you all had a few problems with my car not running right sort of like a mis fire but audi could not sort the problem after four months it final been sorted it was something to do with a valve or cylinder number three. buy the four month stage i had lots all faith in the car though i expressed my unhappiness no raised voices or anythink just a chat and this is what i was offered

2 new tyres for my current S3 (FREE)
my first service that was due any day (FREE)

on top of that i then had the tricky decision of

£2000 cash for the four month payment the car was not running right

OR

a brand new S3 Black Edition to the spec i have at no cost to myself (a straight swap)
my hand controls (FREE)
autoglym lifetime shine (FREE)
gap insurance (FREE)
number plate retention and transfer to new car (FREE)
first service on new car (FREE)

well what could i do i made them stew for a few days then agreed and signed on the dotted line unfortunatly i chose ibis white again but had change of mind that night rung up the next day to confirm solar orange they have said it will be april time which is fine by me as i get to keep mine til the new one is ready SO A BIG THANKS THE BURY ST EDMUNDS AUDI

now to decide what to do to it im thinking along the lines of

BBS CH 19" OR BBS CH-R (not decided yet)
H&R Lowering Springs & Shocks
H&R Spacers 10mm all round
Lamin-x (tint)
LED Number Plate lights and inerior conversion
Vinyl wrapping the silver mirrors in either gloss black or carbon fibre

sounds like you have done alright there!

just a quick note... if your going springs & shocks, why dont you go coilovers? that way you can get an infinite adjustment and get the car set up the way u like it?
and with the spacers, 12mm would be better at the back as the track at the back is 2mm narrower then the front (tho you may have to loose the wheel arch liner screw as your going to 19's)
personally id go with the gloss black, to match the gloss black of the grill

Ahhh man solar orange, stunning with black trimmings.

Nice colour to look at but abit much to own me thinks. Hate parking outside restaurants in a bright car!

However, what a blooming deal you got there! Looks like you got treated very well indeed. And yes, if you got the money go coilovers definitely.

yer i couldn't believe the deal either , have debated the coilover route and know nothing about them i know about the srings and shocks any advise on what to get ? make ? price ? where from ?

intersting fact on the spacers , loose the wheel arch liner screw ?

KW coilovers is what you want! ..If it's just for road use I guess v1/v2's would be sufficient!
Can get one of sponsors AMD to sell you one with free fitting etc.

And I thought it's only on sportback's that the rears possibly rub and not the 3dr's on bbs'. Someone will be along to shed more light on this though.

depends on how much you want to spend.... the 2 big names i know of are weitec & KW, kw's do 3 sets ranging from about 800-1200 depending on the level of adjustments, weitec are made kw and are pretty much the same thing and vary form about 650-850 but only have 2 sets
have a look here and you will see the differences, not sure how good their prices are tho, but depending when you get your car, i may be able to get a discount due to a friend starting up his own business
DPM - Audi S3 8P Coilovers

yea the screw, if your running 19's and got the car dropped, you will prob get rubbing in the rear archs, there is a screw that u can take out which doesnt really do much from what ive heard and stops the rubbing... if you stick your had up into the wheel arch you should be able to feel it

.

cant see the point in the V2's as that one only adjusts the rebound... so unless you can balance that with the dampening, surly it would feel a bit off? so personally id either go V1's (only height adjustment) or V3's (you can change all settings)

my fav colour for an S3 there's one i see all the time in cardiff and think it would look so nice with black mirrors and wheels hmm

they will be more... but you get what you pay for, coilovers are as good as it gets... they will be the next big thing going on my car after ive got the clutch fixed

so the basic coilover kit by kw are only only rebound adjustable and the inox-line coilovers are height and rebound adjustable? bit confused

the V1's are only height adjustable, V2's height & rebound, V3's are height, rebound & dampening

AMD essex are doing the V1's for £900 I think with fitting special deal. Think I seen that on another forum.
Yeah they are expensive but the ride wont be as harsh for you and with coilovers you can adjust the height etc to find the best setting. Springs , shocks, fitting is going to cost abit anyways and you don't sound too short of cash so might as well push the boat for coilovers. I have springs and the ride is firm to say the least. Your orignal choice is probably going to cost you 300-400quid anyways.

V1's £870.66inc vat.

LOVE Solar Orange, but as tku has said i wouldn't necessarily own one because of depreciation.

you got a wkd deal out of it tho, i'd be well chuffed

right cheers for clearing that one up jungleman will probably go for the V1 as there at the cheaper end of the scale and im think of doing a stage 2 + revo and DSG upgrade

bbs ch alloys will be ok if you drop it 25mm as long as they are the real deal with the offset being et50 and not the replica's that come in et45

bbs will be the real deal when i get round to getting them had real bad problems with reps before will never by them again

anyone good with the photo changing stuff the get a solar orange s3 and drop it 25mm with black mirrors and bbs ch would be great to see what it will look like

Finding the combo for me is gonna be difficult, but solar orange sb stronic with panny roof, all the trimmings would be my delight for a while & take her upto 360 horses, job done, hads previous S3 for 7 years, sure can manage that for one of these, but again its old technology these days even if interior looks good.

Set of 19" MTM Bimotos on VAGOC for sale, top money but would look very very special in anthracite on a Solar S3.
BTW, is that pic not show CKs ??

I have CHs and think both BBS rims are nice. Something about those MTMs though.

How cool?

MTMs just seem that bit more cool because they are pretty rare and synonymous with an established and respected German tuning house.

BBS CH/CKs arent too shabby neither tho.

These are mines after a generous little polish, tyres should be on next month then fitting etc not long after on Ibis S3, cannot wait!

DEFINITELY STICK to CH's or CH-R's which they now do for A3 fitment for the solar. Think the black combo would look better than the bimoto's.

Those particular MTM's on vagoc Won't fit on an A3/S3 too wide and the wrong offset.

They're TTRS fittment

Lovely wheel though and they do make them to fit the S3 obviously just those ones won't go

there is one at Coulsdon Audi with 18" splits, should be some decent photos on the audi used site

Problem with that car is the alum mirrors, to me ruins the whole look as does the silver grill.
