350bhp

before spending a crazy fortune on R888's, I'd suggest checking out Federals 595 RS-R's. they're a very similar trackday tyre, which reportedly last twice as long as R888's, offer almost the same grip, and cost half the price!

They're what I'll be using on the track car.

Are your seats on the standard rails at the moment? If you've caging it, you might want to look into getting the seats a bit lower to keep you away from the bars
cheers mate will definatly give them a go.
yeah my seats are on standard rails but i will be looking to mount them directly to the floor, i want a custom cage fitted so it cant be seen from the outside, so running along a pillars and criss crossing along the back below the window line.

Great looking and performing machine :). Where in Surrey are you from? I'll keep my eye out but I think I'll just pull over if you're ever behind me...for now ;)

esher near kingston ( do you go to any meets? were always looking to beef up the ontourage?

Wow very nice car! bet that thing flies especially with weight reduction! must be to 62 in the mid 5second point!
closer to 4 sec i hit the 60ft mark at pod in 1.88 sec on a standard clutch

god im in love with your car, so perfectly done!

what rods are in there at the moment? (sorry if youve already said somewhere)

cheers mate. im still runnin standard internals but a total rebuild is definatly on my todo list.

your right its at its limit but backdraft motorsport assured me that the 20v can handle that much power and ive had the kit on for 18 months and she still purrs like a kitten.

I haven't been to any meets for ages, they're pretty scarce round this way but send me some details of your next one and I'll pop along hopefully :).

Touch wood mate....
i think the critical point is 320-330
was your engine originally from an s3?

its the ary engine 180bhp the kit on it is the BDM325 so it should be around 325bhp but they rolling roaded an identical kit on a 180bhp golf and it came up at 357bhp

how much was the kit including fitting if you dont mind me asking??

kit was around 6k ish but with all the extras including brakes, boost guages, polyeurethene bushes, h&R spacers, and the armour plated baffled sump it came to around 9k

Surrey Rolling Road

Pretty aptly named place considering your question. It's a 4wd dyno dynamics rolling road.

That said, you don't need a 4wd RR for a haldex car, you can just pull the fuse instead and run fwd
i spoke to them last summer and they had issues with the haldex system on there dyno with or without the fuse and recommended i go elsewear

What a load of cobblers!!! Haldex is a clutch... pull the fuse and it just switches off... no drive to the rear or owt... the only real problem tbh honest is the DD dyno... they don't do coast down losses and use preset parameters to 'calculate' flywheel power which seems to throw a spanner in the works plus they don't load the rollers right and the runs are over in very quickly which affects the power output as the ECU's are load based and the DD rollers don't appear to load the car enough which can affect the power output...

I am looking at organising a dyno day sometime next month at Badger 5 if I can get enough interest...

I'd quite fancy another RR day Paul. Might see if I can convince the old man to bring the the track car up. I'd love to see what it's putting out.

Sorry for going off topic Don!

Yarp... suggest no one else mentions the dyno day on Don's thread... Nick said it once but I think he got away with it (Fawlty Towers tenuous reference ;))

no that's the right way round mate. or at least it's the same as standard orientation. and the piston can't be forced open by boost pressure, as it's acting on the side of the piston not the bottom

Actually... Split-***** are plumbed the opposite way to normal (actual) DV's... best bet is to re-plumb it in the bin and get a 007p instead ;P
