The steering wheel badge on my s3 has lost its colour abit,i know you can get new ones off ebay, but how easy is it to get the old one out?dont want to mark my steering wheel getting it out!has anyone replaced there's?:w00t:

I've replaced my badge on both S3s I have owned (pre and post facelift). The removal is the same for both types. Get a blunt, wide, thin object and gebntly prise it out. That is all you need to do, but just be very gentle as you can mark the leather surrounding the badge if you go at it like a bull in a china shop.

I took mine out and painted it with some vw flash red paint I had from a previous car, looks good as new and at no cost :)

Thanks for this post.
My badge is dented and paint flaking off.

I did not know it could be removed.
GIves me something else to add to the list. :D

The downside is the badge for a pre-facelift was about £18 from Audi (back in 2005) and the post facelift was about £21 (in 2010).

Absolutely outrageous for a silly bit of plastic I know, but it was one of those things that was annoying and but really simple to change.

I was going to say, I considered this after a light clean with a soft brush to get the dust out marked the damned thing! Then I saw the prices for them! Erm, no, other things to spend £25 on at this moment in time!

Really useful guys, thanks.
I wonder if you could help with another related issue. The leather on my steering wheel has a lot of wear and tear, discoloured around the badge. Any way of getting this back to new easily?
