New staggered BBS LM reps 18"

i dont wanna use spacers i think it wont look as good. i also think it will rub the arches on the front aswell.
and plus if i put spacers on the front i will have to do the same on the back, but the wheels actually fit on the back though. well confused now so will an et 35 clear the callipers then?

Why will spacers not look as good ? All spacers really do is alter the offset of your wheel ?
Think a member on here fitted bbs lm reps with 10mm spacers to clear callipers on 2.0t but not sure what his wheels offset were? I would think 35 would do it though but I would ask around on here and get some sound advice from some one who has fitted wheels to a 2.0t to avoid any expensive mistakes!

It's Ultramodz that has em on his S-line SE, think his offset is 45 but he is running spacers front and rear. You've bought the wheels and tires now mate you might aswell finish the job.

I agree mate !?!
So 10mm spacers will make the offset of the wheels 35 I imagine yours will be 45 offset as they are prob same reps. 35 offset wheels will not rub on the arches unless you are very low or have very fat mates so 45 offset wheels spaced out to 35 with 10mm spacers will not rub on the arches or look any different.

Well I finally made it to page 251 of the FTWLTBDWICTW thread! What a cracking read!

Like maka i still haven't got my 19's on the ****** car yet as I'm having to wait for spigot rings which the eBay seller forgot to mention his advert :(

As for fitment issues with ET45 I am slightly worried that I have the larger brakes on my TDI 170 - can anyone comment or confirm?

Worst case scenario will mean I head straight for spacers as i will not be defeated - have mentioned this potential issue to the Mrs (it's her daily) but she doesn't seem too concerned so long as they go on safely and fit with out any problems. Think I'll forget to mention the B5 spring plates and what the term 'stance' means though (although i appreciate I'll still be a long way off)

Hopefully they will be on by the end of Jan and I'll post pics as soon as they are!

Got any 'settled' pics yet?

Oh, just one more thing, how much clearance do you have from the spokes to your callipers?

(sorry for the double post - iPad makes editing impossible!)

Not sure mate think 170 might have bigger brakes if your having clearance problems I would say you do?
Fitting my spacers this weekend so will give it a bath and get pics up next week

Im not sure if 170 has different brakes but tbh i wouldn't of thought so.

I have about 10mm clearence from caliper to spokes, no new pics yet out of sheer laziness and a desperation to get her washed.

Im not even done with FTWLTBDWICTW yet, im on 136 or something, not been on for abit though, gets abit samey.

Spacer if anything only make the stance/appearance better. If you put spacers on the front you dont have to put any on the back(it would be your choice). Just an example with spacers on and i think looks like the perfect stance for the B7. Obviously not every one wants to run that low but looks quality:wub: Makes me want to get a B7

More pics here!

looks amazing!!!! i like the colour choice aswell!!
did you have to use spacers or anything in the end? were the deisel brakes bigger?

Cheers mate, they went on fine with no clearance issues! There is about 10mm between the rear face of the spokes and the caliper with ET45. I guess the 140 and 170 diesels use the same size brakes! If anything I am tempted to space the rears out by 8-10mm...

i have ordered my spacers now and the longer bolts etc.
i will get some pics up as soon as possible
i just gotta worry about selling my other wheels now!

He is down as Ultramodz on here. There is a few threads of his car from staart to finish. Very sexual!

i am still waiting on the spacers. first set of 10mm wasnt big enough on the front so i have had to get 13mm to clear the callipers. lets hope that works...
having some major problems selling the old wheels aswell :(

they are the 18" audi 5 spokes but the tyres are almost dead now (after a remap lol)

Fat 5's, sell em on eBay or a golf o.c

They will go no problem.

Or list them on Edition 38 - loads of wheels for sale on there and you'll have all the VW / Audi peeps lookin
