Well the missus' Clio refuses to start after not being used for a number of weeks because of poor weather :( It was literally buried in snow till the thaw.

Went to give it a jump and found the battery on my car is in the boot, under the spare and a riveted down panel! Are there any posts under the bonnet to connect the leads to to save unscrewing all the stuff underneath? I couldn't see any for the life of me...

Thanks for any help for an Audi Newbie :)

Its at the back on the right hand side under a cap as you stand in front of the bonnet. about the highest point.

Found it, thanks. Page 346 of the manual for anyone else who ever might need it. There is a nut and a prong (Which should be covered but in my case was not) as Paddy said in the top right of the engine bay.

bmw's have the same thing battery in the boot and a positive terminal under the bonnet with a + sign on it

Strongly recommend you get a cover as soon as poss mate. when the bonnet is shut that live terminal is very close to the bonnet and a Small front end knock could bow the bonnet down and you will have a short and fire !!

your best bet would be audi mate shouldnt be that expensive i wouldnt have thought cant help on the part no soz

My pos cover broke very easily when opening it - cheap non heat-resistant plastic?
There is no neg (ground/earth) provided and finding a good neg contact wasn't easy. I found an earth strap down the right side (from the front) of the rads but it's awkward to get at. Any other earth was to resistive to crank the 3.2L engine. I actually had to use tractor jump leads to get my car started. A good neg terminal like the pos terminal would be very handy.

Thought there was an exposed earth point on the inner wing near the positive one, looks like a bolt stuck up. Are you saying that you can't get a good contact from this?
