I also got a DA for christmas
I was then directed to the above guide, It realy does give you a "how to" to get you going and explain the does and donts
I will probably read it again and again , Until i gain the skills to develope my own methods

Think Polished Bliss, have a detailed write up on their web site on how to use them. I've got one, really will struggle to mess up your paint with it, unless you've had a respray, or previous owner has used rattle cans on your car.
This might sound daft but I'm not sure????
Can I use my Megs Tech Wax / Gold Polish etc with the DA? I do have some of the polishes etc it came with (80,81 and 83) but I also have loads of polish left from before?!

I have never applied liquid waxes with a DA but can't see why it wouldn't be worth a try. If I was to try I'd go with the least aggressive pad I had plus the slowest machine setting and very little pressure, if any. I would imagine they might dry out rather quickly and you might risk rubbing dried product into your freshly polished surface, but I'm guessing as I've never tried it.
Things I do use the DA for, apart from polishing/correction work, is applying paint/pre-wax cleaners and products such as autoglym SRP, again on finishing pads. I favour paste waxes (got some dodo panel pots and glasur) and have also recently had a go with Zaino, all of which I applied by hand.

Never used a DA (rotary man myself) but from what i've heard it is quite hard to fu*k up on a DA, there alot more forgiving than a Rotary.
Always start with the polish with the lowest cut and work your way up untill you get the correction level you require. Then just remember not to rush and make sure you work the polish in well.

I used my DA for the first time today - extremely happy and far more confident than before - can't wait for some slightly warmer weather so I can fully get to grips!
