As colin said the weekend was extremely cold going into the -9 on the saturday evening so we were COLD to say the least. after much hard work and a battle of elements on our hands the car was done sunday morning.

This is what we had to work against

Thanks for looking.

Note to self, must buy a good camera and a warmer coat.

Excellent mate - I use a Nikon DSLR and find it really good, especially as I'm a complete novice but it always gives great pictures :)

I need to get one that can give me good focus shots, my camera phone is good but nothing beats a good proper camera. ill be investing in one next year.

Top work lads

Really surprised at the amount of claybars you went through as it was only a few weeks ago I clayed the roof and the bonnet :(

It looks stunning sat in the car park at work now - the reflections coming off the paintwork are unreal

cheers rhys it means alot mate, when we washed the car we didnt see any signs of a protection on it so depends what wax was used and when you used it and how many layers etc thats prob why there was contaminents in the paint due to it not being that well protected from the roads and the most of the contaminents were from the lower half of the vehicle, below the bump strips were like sandpaper to touch there was so much tar and grime on the panel. atleast you know it is well protectednow mate so hopefully she will stay gleamo lol and if there any problem about you cant wash the car for some reason there is always up mine mate and ill sort you out :)

No probs mate - really chuffed with the results you achieved despite the weather :)

Bit shocked you thought there was no protection as when I clayed the roof and bonnet I did put a couple of layers of Collinite on it

I'll have to pop up for a cuppa and grab some tips off you mate ;) though I'd get some grit and de-ice your estate first - its fricking lethal! lol :p

I'll also take your old man for a spin and show him what a quick diesel should be like :racer:

Rhys Sorry i was'nt there to hand the car back along with Grant. Yes the car was a challange from the start due to sub zero condition's but I'm glad that you are pleased with the results. I have placed an order today for more clay bar's lol.

No probs and I'm more than pleased with the results Col  The results you got helped reinforced my decision about buying a Lava Grey as it was originally my 2nd choice behind Dolphin Grey.

I love how it can look several different colours depending on the light, a trick which reminds me of my old Golf

Give me a shout if you need any VAGCOM trickery done, Grant mentioned you might want your car scanned / logged etc ;)

lol errrmmm no mate my S is no courtesy car lol but there might be a courtesy car one day

How did you get round the frost issue when washing it? Did mine a few days ago and the water was frosting soon pretty much straight away.

OMFG Rhys lol sadly mine is like it too after around 12 miles of driving so dont worry about it, just be carefull washing it or just send it back to the twigmeister general lol unfortunately mine is in the garage with her bum in the air awaiting a new rear caliper as the one i had new seals fitted too was proper nackered.

these roads are mental dirty round here arent they mate, and have you seen the potholes appearing around town and nearly every single road we have down here........... hope they get their act together thios year and sort them out

Wheels were a doddle to wash - quick blast with the jet wash and 95% of the dirt vanished!

Roads have been crap mate. Those pics were after over 500 miles of driving :crying:

I may be in need of your skills again as my boss decided to put marks on my rear bumper when he put on his safety boots when at a site meeting on Friday :aggressive: Some people have no respect for other people's property

Rhys. We are all in the same boat mate everyone's car's are dirty due to the salt and ice, mine ended up black just going to Swansea and back and the white polo i use for work is in need of some TLC as soon as this weather breaks. Protection is the key.

sorry dude forgot to answer the question, we basically washed the car panel by panel carefully and dried asap, lucjy the garage had more heat then outside, i wouldnr recommend washing in that type of temperature mate id just wait until it was above the minus

top man rhys it looks back to its best, mine is still dirty up here in the garage still waiting for the caliper but my pipe coming out the wall has popped so no water supply

Funny that because thats exactly what I did! Took ****** ages and what a ballache! Hats off to you.

Cheers Grant! It looks awesome in the sunshine today

That calliper of yours has turned into a right drama! :banghead:
tell me about it mate, done my head in now it has, plus what happened to the car on monday too so december aint looking good for me. ROLL ON 2011

hardest car we have done for a while, it was a nightmare but damn it came out good lol

I'm a firm believer that people's first mod should be to get the paintwork sorted. You can have the sexiest wheels on the planet but if your paintwork is **** then no one is going to notice the wheels lol
