Gran Turismo 5

I had a good go on this last night im well impressed i was on it about 5 hours which is a record for me as i normally only play games for a couple of hours and they start doing my head in lol. Anyway iv got a couple of complaints so far the loading times when you go back to the home screen takes an age sometimes and then other times its pretty quick so dont know whats going on there and the standard car i bought i could not change the wheels on it from what i understood from the message that came up you cant change them on standard cars at all but it could be certain cars though. The tuning options on the other hand are immense there does seem to be a lot more that you can do to the performance like adding turbos to na cars which iirc you could not do this on the previous games although i have only tuned a couple of cars so i might find this is not the case with all. Overall though alot better than i was expecting well worth the wait :thumbsup:
 
Ye from my understanding, the standard car options are a bit limited

Im hoping they will bring out updates and things as times goes on, but who knows

Overall, 9/10 :)
 
This game is awesome, The graphics are immense, and the weather effects are great, the driving controls and handliong feel so good :drool:
I bought the Ek9 Type r too, great motor!!!
I think its abit slow loading up some screens because when your logged in online it has to connect to the servers and load the data, im pretty sure theyl sort the servers out at some point and itl be quicker (Try not being logged in and play the game see if theres a difference?!?!)
Ive got a fat boi with 320gb upgrade and it can be abit slow, but pretty sure thats down to the above ^^^
 
Anyone tried playing online yet? I haven't coz i've only got a 3G dongle :( (i wonder if i could get it work if i plugged it into the PS3?....any thoughts?)
 
I don't think it would work mate! Think you'd need one of those mi-wi dongles which also create a wireless access point which your PS3 could then connect to. Have you not done the 1.01 update then also? There was a big old update on release day, and rumour has it that December 1st damage is going to be proper turned on finally! yay

I haven't tried online though, i actually unplugged my cable last night as it was trying to connect to a server and crashing. Might try it tomorrow, or give it a week or so to calm down.

I can confirm that disconnecting the internet connection does help in the loading times if you havnt been on it today there will be a message waiting provided yours is connected stating a problem with the servers. The damage update sounds interesting i heard a rumor about the damage being driver level based but im more inclined to believe that it will be in an update instead hopefully there will be more standard car mods too.

Can i do it on gold can i F***. Got silver easy,

Silver's good enough, just move on :laugh:

Wait til you get to IA-10 i think it is, it's nearly impossible to control the Lambo at 160mph under braking into the hairpin!!! Took me about 10 trys :laugh:
 
Well i got to say it guys but looking at this video i prefer the look of forza, but then again i could be biased towards it from playing it for the past year or so, but having said that i'm still toying with the idea of buying a PS3 just for GT5, oh and for the blu ray if the mrs asks why i want one :thumbsup:

Just bought a Logitech GT steering wheel for this, makes the game so much better.

I bought one too, but not tried it with the game yet. The mrs is out all night tonight so I'm gonna crack it open and then hide it back away as it's for christmas ha! Proper looking forward to it too. I am becoming addicted to the game :(

There are definitely some things which it's fair to say are unfinished with the game, but nothing patches won't wort out. But I love it though!!!



This is me crashing last night. I love it for two reasons, the smoke looks ace as i skid around the corner, and then the crazy crash made me laugh!

Also got my 1st real beast, a 2000 Nissan Skyline GT-R V Spec N11 Edition. Currently running 694bhp!!!

How much time did you waste getting all gold? :laugh: Did you get a car for that?

Did the Mercedes AMG Challenges last night. The new SLS AMG is sooo nice to drive, so quick and nimble!

I am nicely excited for that SLS AMG! Considered the AMG challenge last night, but ended up pimping out my old school BMW (the one crashed above). I love the older cars so much more, but i guess that's the same in life, ha.

I just pass my license and move on, i only have a gold on a few, and those were from first attempt. Can't be bothered with re-doing tests yet, far too much fun to be had elsewhere.

Loving the go-karts too, they're proper fun to race.

About hour and a half :laugh:

I got three cars. I thought that i would put them all in my garage so i selected each one but for some reason i now only have one in my garage! :banghead: dunno why....!? Can anyone tell me please :sadlike:

Meh, the go karts are OK. Prefer proper handling on a real car

I'm struggling to find a classic Japanese car for the beginner race, any advice?

Do the AMG challenge, it's really fun :) although i think i now know my way around the ring....which is kinda sad

Spent 8 hours straight on the PS3 last night...my eyes hurt :(

You get a choice of the 3 cars iirc. You don't get all 3

If i'm wrong, try looking in your "car delivery" bit, the icon with the lorry

Got a bargain Skyline from there last night

Tuned it so that i'm not racing Zonda's and Lambo's in a Nissan :laugh:

Although i was pushing it quite hard, and i got a lot of smoke off the front left tyre towards the end of a 5 lap race :( looks like they've developed some true tyre wear into it :)
 
It will turn up at some point in the used car dealership I bet mate. Inbetween most races I check there to see what's available.

Normally i'd be insanely jealous, but wifey is out tonight and I get a night with GT5, wahooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo. Stuill doubt i'll get anywhere like 10 hours in, but a 3 hour stint for me is a treat ha.

Mrs is driving down to mine after she finishes work, so i'll have from 5pm-12pm free :)

You DO get all 3 cars btw but only one of the first 3 is a premium, I was confused myself at first but theres a tab on the left for premium and standard, click on standard and you'll find them hiding ;)

Anyone seen a Quattro in the used lot yet? I still haven't :'(
 
I've seen a B6 S4 in green in the used dealer and was tempted to buy it but I'm trying to be sensible and buy cars I actually need, the S4 would of wiped out most of my funds...

Getting well hooked on this game now, the more I play it the better it gets !!
