Hi all,

I was wondering if there are any changed I could make to my new Audi A3 1.4 TFSI, to make it faster.

I'll be getting a remap in December which should give me an extra 30% increase in power, but is there any other obvious improvements I could make?

Cheers :yum:

Borrow a 1.2 (as we have) for a few days, that will make yours seem quick .. ;-)

exhuast, CAI and remap. that's all you can do really. or buy a 2.0T.

I agree with sub... sell it and buy a proper one!! ;-)

disagree with the above... buy a 1.8T. quick enough for me (well for the time being!!)

i have a solution

1. get a saw
2. remove carpet
3. cut hole in floor
4. put on hard wearing shoes
5. run Flintstone stylee - that should make you a little quicker!

(wait for one of the VR6 or S3 boys to put me in my place lol)

to be fair.. i had a 1.4t s-line on a 58 plate, thought it was not too bad. really pleased with the 1.8T though

Cheers for all the replies :) I'm going to remap but after a couple of weeks, so that I can at least notice a difference. I also have a 2.0 Golf GTi and this has more power, so I'm happy - but would like to make the most of this new car from day one. I'll look into an exhaust system & a CAI, but I don't want anything 'tacky'.

Because I'm 19, and this costed me £22,500 alone, just on a 1.4

If you can afford that sort of money at 19 years old then you're one of the privileged ones with too much money !

How much is your insurance? If you ****** about with it and tell your insurance company, as you are required to do, they will hit you !

Just wait 'til you grow up and get a bit of credibility and then start thinking of 'fast cars'. It's guys like you that cause our insurance premiums to rocket !

Not at all. Don't jump to conclusions when you don't know me -

I owned a brand new 650cc Suzuki motocycle when I was 17, 0-60 in 3.5s, I never once even scratched it but yet I paid huge insurance.

I then sold it for my 2 litre Golf GTI, £3500 for a year on third party fire and theft. Never once caused any problems on the road.

I'm picking my brand new MY2011 Audi A3 up on Thursday and I don't plan to crash that either. I drive sensibly. It's 'guys like' me, that shouldn't be hit hard by insurance premiums. I don't appreciate the pre-judgments just because I'm asking whether or not there are adjustments and tweaks I can make to a car I have no idea about.

I have a job to pay for this, I'm not privileged.

I personally would of just bought a cheaper 2.0tdi, 2.0tfsi or 1.8tfsi black edition if you got £22500. Could of used a small amount on the insurance.
Enjoy the car though

So why did you buy it ?

Benskin is right - get a standard, faster, older one.

Your very comment indicates that, as a 19 year old , you have seen it, done it, and know all about it ! As a 65 year old I can tell you that you haven't even started !

Enjoy the car but for god's sake don't be so ****** ***** !

Dude... My comment is just showing you that I am not at all the reason for insurance premiums.

Erm V6 Girls..... Well Sub it it makes your car go faster doing that, good luck to ya lol!!!! You can watch me as I over take you and leave you behind.....

Sell it and buy a faster standard one! :s3addict:

You could have got one with my sort of spec for £12k ish and had loads of petrol :w00t: and beer :eyebrows: money to spare lol

Like i said before my old (just gone 08 1.4T) bless its little socks,,,, use to eat TDI 140's and standard 1.8T's, i think the daughters boyfriend who re mapped it said it was 170 on the rollers, it still kept the good fuel economy when driven carefully.

Accepted - but why did you buy a car ( for a lot of money ) that you knew wasn't quick enough for you ?

If, at your age, you are lucky enough to have been able to afford those speed machines, why buy something that wasn't going to suit you in the first place ? If you mess about with it, and tell the insurance company, won't it negate the object of buying that particular model ?

By the way - it isn't you that causes the insurance premium hike - it's all the other young drivers that have accidents, especially in the first few years.

I sincerely hope that you won't join them.

My apologies. VR6 boys and girls. And I'll make sure I wave when at you when I drive past the petrol station you're filling up at :p

Correct - but my insurance premium is only £290 fully comp ( at the moment ) !! lol

That's not right, old ppl are terrible drivers lol

Buy an RS3 as a donor car, remove the engine, bin the rest and stick the lump in your car.

lol, nah, mines not that bad, it could be alot worse lol....... but I'd have filled up and be out again and still be in front of you lol

Thats a bit harsh isnt it? Usually its women who cant judge distances or to$$ers showing off!

Is this where we punch each others knuckles and shout like yanks?

P.S. I wouldn't notice you stealing them, i'd be busy reading an RS3 brochure

Whats this reading thing you talk of.
