Because that it is a very large portion of why people choose to customise or modify THEIR car. It becomes your car, and their is a strange addiction that can happen. You are drip feeding ideas and changes that gradually builds into something thats as unique as your fingerprint, a bit cliched I know, but true!I don't really understand why you'd do that to a car. Ok maybe there's something to rebuilding a car like that that I don't understand but for the same money wouldn't it have been better to buy something like a Ferrari 575M or a Maserati or something? No matter what you do an S3 is always going to be an S3.
Yet you have plans for an aftermarket exhaust and an EVOMs CAI and have already fitted Weitec Hicon GTs. Bit hypocritical no ? No matter what you do to an A3 S-Line it will always be an A3 S-Line.I don't really understand why you'd do that to a car. All went pete tong after his engine went bangEveryone will have a difference in opinion, but end of day its down to the individual how far they want to go with their own car! I think the work done on this car makes it quite awesome.
What happened to S3 Big Andy, he had a big turbo S3 also didnt he?
andys went pete tong after going too far with meth injection

Sorry but Andy was an idiot for putting a big turbo on a basically stock engine. That engine was always going to explode without having internals done it was just a matter of when not if. This car looks like it has been done properly so if looked after should last it`s just a shame the aircon has been removed.
When did they say it was a super galatic comet? It will always be an S3 yes, that'll give a 575M a run for its money.
haha 575M, it'd beat one of those comfortably. More like F430 territory

Shame really to hear this from someone that's into modding. The 2871 and 3071 are done by TOO MANY people on stock S3 engines and none suffered a loss due to the BT application. Bad news only come when:
1) The tuner doesn't know when to stop
2) The owner doesn't know when to stop
3) Both
Plenty of 430hp S3s around to prove my point. I feel that Andy's bad incident had something to do with option No2. Went too far with the water-Meth as far as I know. The damage to the engine had nothing to do with too much torque. It's clear from the photos posted here back then. Wasn't the turbo's fault...
So we agree

Its all about making the car unique i think but tbh its not really my thing but each to their own i say.

This did make me laugh a bit.
Of course it's always going to be an S3,but one that suits the individual,AND has superb performance into the bargain.
As Iggu's already said, you want to fit an aftermarket exhaust and intake to your S-Line,and for some reason a facelift rear bumper?....so you're customising your own car to suit what you want from it,and you should be able to understand why someone else may want something different.
Reet enough.
You are either modding or your not.
How far is `too far` is purely subjective.
Its about getting the car you want to look and drive how you want.
The tuning game is full of people that have the disposable income to buy something fairly exotic and choose to modify more average cars instead.

the dildo gearstick is a stroke of genius btw.
Just realised your post Dan Haha if you had the money jonny's Tt would be yours, admit it

Well a 575M has 508bhp, but its curb weight is well over 1700 kgs and is has pretty tall gearing, not to mention 2wd.
This S3 is around the 1400 kg mark, with similar power, much shorter gearing and 4wd, and has has posted a 0-60 of 3.6 sec at Audi Driver International , which is 1 second faster then a 575M
haha that may go with the sale who knows..Officialy known as the `Dan Summers` `Central Driving position`
Thanks for your comments guys keep it friendly
