I think its a joke! Im not saying im a support of the EDL atall and i personally dont agree with either extreme but definitely one rule for one and one for another. The EDL came to my town on 01/05/10 Aylesbury and they were surround by police. The next march they were going to do through Bradford or somewhere and the Home Secretary put an injunction against them marching through the Muslim area of the town! Surely if the UK Government wants to stop retaliation and problems why not stop the extremists marching as well. Plus who said the EDL would cause any issues everyone has the right to voice there opinions.

The thing that makes me laugh is that priest in the US who was going to burn all the Qurans was told by the US president not to do it. And i believe for good reason he was taking it to the extreme and disgracing every muslim. I know plenty of Muslims who are decent honest people and have no need to be disgraced due to a belief but today those 30 individuals have disgraced every soldier and soldiers family that have given their lives for this country.

Has the muslim council of Great Britain came out and condemed them for their actions yet?
We have a lot of freedom in the UK, freedom of speech, freedom of expression etc, and its against your human rights to be denied that.
But how come it only applies to people offending the UK? The only ones I saw arrested or hassled by the police on the TV or in the press were white, and I don't think the white people were the ones burning poppys.

In actually speechless that this whole poppy burning incident has been allowed to happen, this country is weak financially and morally. I'm glad to see though that this new coalition govt we have in place seems to be reversing some of the s**t we've had to endure for too long.
I'm not going to revert to racism as it's not worth stooping to their level, but I honestly do believe that if you don't agree with our way of life, our relgion and our polictics then shut up or ****** off.

As a British Muslim I was shocked and horrified when I read this in the paper. These "Muslims" who carry out such acts are not following the religion, so I want just want to make it clear that we should look at the people doing the acts, rather than the race or religion. Anybody doing similar actions from any race or religion would be branded a tw*t regardless. As mentioned above by thorsy22, if an English guy attacks someone from a foreign descent it is silly and closed-minded to assume that race was the motive!
@Akbarifan. Thank you. Your post is the first time in print that I have read from a muslim condemming their action. I am still waiting for the muslim council of GB to condem them, and until they do, most people are going to view all muslims the same.

I too was shocked that they did it too. Its an insult to all those who died in battle since the end of WW1 - i'm sure there have been plenty of Muslims who fought side by side with other religions in these wars against a common enemy.
