Flat bottom steering wheel

Hi

Just wondering what work is required to fit one of these into a 04 plate 20tdi at the moment I have the old style 3 spoke wheel with no buttons. the flat bottom i have seen has the multifunction buttons. How much of a drama is this going to be to get working and what work or parts will it need?

You need a new controller, slip ring and some one to code it. Takes about 45mins in all to do but be aware your 04 airbag system will not work with that wheel.

Sorry to deviate from your question, but how much is a flat bottom steering wheel?. I got one on my 07 plate s3, but it's got loads of indentations over it. I'm sure it's the misses ring doing it but she denies it!!.
So I wouldn't mind getting a nice new one but not sure of the cost.

you can pick them up off eBay for around £150-£200. you'll be able to reuse all your old ECU, airbag etc so...

if you want the wheel without the airbag i've seen a few for no more than £200. for £400 i wouldn't consider one without an airbag.

Sorry sub, i forgot the thread was hijacked and was thinking the original poster would need an airbag as well hence £400, Yes the other guy will just need a wheel of course.

also if you're putting this on an 8P1 the airbag is only for decoration anyway

Lol pointless really then. I think i'd rather an steering wheel with an air bag that works haha!
I got a MFSW in my bedroom some where that i've had for a year... I'll get that on once i get new seats
