Hi All,

My new B7 A4 SE 4-spoke steering wheel (multi-function) is thin and, well nasty. So I would like to change it to an S-line 3-spoke multi-function steering wheel. What is involved and how long will it take?

Also I notice on ebay lots of the S-line steering wheels don't have the (S-Line) badge?

Unfortunately I think you will also need to change the airbag which is very costly.

I have a 3 spoke mfsw available should you be interested. It's not new but in vgc. and I bought it thinking it would fit my A3 but unfortunately the airbag is different again !

Assuming you get the new airbag the change over will take 15-20 minutes after disconnecting the battery.

Cheers

Hi Mike, thanks for the info. PM sent about your steering wheel.
Can anyone confirm the airbag issue?

I'm pretty sure Mike is right and you need a 3-spoke airbag. You could disconnect your battery, take off your airbag (just two screws behind the steering wheel) and check the part number. 3 spoke airbags are 8E0 201 880 (I think as that's from memory!).

Jees, your right. Airbags are going for £295 second hand! Theres me thinking they would come with the S-Line steering wheel!

Good guess with the part no. - it's actually 8E0 880 201 CG 6PS(black) £532 new from Audi !!!!!!!!!

Keep your eye open on ebay.de, sometimes a wheel goes with an airbag for around £200.
