THE WAIT IS ALMOST OVER !

Just thought i'd like to share my news . After ordering my car early part of the year the delivery date has been going backwards and forwards from November 2010 to March 2011 and after Audi uk's intervention back to November 2010 . The car was due to be built this week - week 44 , but i was informed last night that it HAS been built and it is 'in transit' . Today i received an email from the dealer saying that the car will be ready for collection week commencing 15th November - i can't wait ! This will be my first Audi and i'm so excited . This has been such a long time coming - roll on w/c 15th .

Congrats mate. I know the feeling, mine is being delivered this coming Friday and I need to keep taking cold showers to calm down.

Counting down . Was given week 46 build , come forward to week 45 (next week) so counting the days... maybe they are doing some Uk spec sportbacks at the moment ..

Picked mine up last week and its my 4th Audi. Still could not sleep the night before the big day.

Thanks guy's , i really can't wait ! I toyed with the idea of having it delivered but didn't fancy it being driven 100 miles 'ish' . Also wanted to have good look around and check everything out before driving away . Stratts , good luck for Friday - like me you've had a long wait . Musicegbdf , you also - not long now ! I know we have all had a terribly long wait but I think we will appreciate it even more when the time comes . Just wondering how I'm going to get through the next couple of weeks .

mine was built last week (43) and i am supposed to pick it up 17/11. Cant F***** wait, since at the moment i am commuting 80 miles a day in a old 1991 Golf Mk2 1,6 TD with 300.000miles on the clock.

Wow . had you monies worth out of that golf then ! Good to hear some are finally coming through, it has been crazy and for all you guys that ordered BE you deserve many years of happy motoring for your patience..

hehe it is a old piece of ****. Have borrowed it from a relative, since i sold my last car Seat Altea FR TDI a month ago. However, i trust the old Golf more than the Altea, runs and starts perfect.

And I have another approx 7 months! The dealer has told me that they will be able to give me a more 'accurate' delivery time as they are awaiting information from the factory?

Just out of interest, how long did was your lead time?

Mattyw19 , from ordering to expected delivery was around 4 months , although at one point this had gone to 8 months . It was only after I complained to Audi uk - mainly from an increased vat point that they wrote back and told me that they had negotiated an earlier build slot - week 44 , hence avoiding the dreaded vat increase . It would appear that the car was actually built week 43 , maybe even earlier as the car was actually on it's way from the factory on the Monday of week 44 .

Thanks for the reply. Yes, I have actually ordered mine through drive the deal and I am being quoted June 11 at the moment!! I have ordered a 3 door, but I have heard that the Sportback has a longer lead time? Everyone lead time seems to be different..

ordered mine august 14th. Was given by the dealer estimated delivery of end Oct.
Then when got a build week of week 46 , which seems to have come forward to week 45. Expect to pick up early Dec, so just under 4 months.

There doesn't seem to be a pattern , other than the BE's taking far too long, other than around 4 months for non BE seem to be average.

Got a confirmed build date on our BE 140tdi Sback Stronic today of week 08 orderd it via lease company back in July, was hoping for Jan delivery but at least it will be a new Reg now when we get it, shame its going to be my wife's daily drive and my weekend toy as I'm stuck with my ugly company insignia.
