well... its been 900 miles since i had my new turbo, s3 intercooler, new rods, milltek downpipe to go with the cat back so i have the full system now and cambelt in my car since my turbo blew and decided to take the intercooler with it and also the engine hydrolocked which bent the rod. . cost me a fortune to repair and had the work done at awesome gti by jim and the other techs who rebuilt the engine and if i heard him right he replaced it from one out of the rs6 engine he has spare.
getting the car back was a relief to say the least and i was scared to turn the key in the ignition never mind drive the thing. anyway i started her up and the car felt so much smoother on idle straight away. the roughness had gone away and the car took on a much deeper tone. drove the car home and it just felt amazing. the downpipe makes such a hugeeeee difference to the feel of the car, turbo does spool up much earlier and the noise is actually phenomenal. in my opinion it sounds better than a standard s3. it roars when on boost and humms when just cruizing on the motorway, really is amazing. after taking it easy for the first 900 miles i was told i was able to give it some stick. the car sounds completeley different with the new turbo on. (dean and jim had it delivered directly from garrett and they said it is a stronger and better turbo in general and has a completeley different shell to the standard oem one) went back 2 days ago to get the remap put back on however jim said he had left it on ! i didnt notice as i didnt dare put my foot down.
coming home from awesome i decided to give it a boot when fully warmed up. holy cow it is a rocket machine. i cant believe there is that much power there and the wooshing sound from the turbo with the roar of the milltek is belting. it is a completeley different animal. i was tiold i have to give it some stick on the motorway and keep it in the high revs to burn out the oil dumped in the exhaust from the old turbo as there is so much smoke! it chokes all the cyclists.
had a golf gti at the side of me at the lights today so i put my foot down thinking he was gna toast me and i absolutley batterd it... i love dsg lol
anyone in the manchester area who is thinking of getting the milltek on their diesel is welcome to have a listen... but u will definiteley want one after hearing it!
