Another hybrid conversion thread....

Anyway..... Damn red stupid hose thing.

Popped to Forge and got one. Sadly, didn't have time to fit it there and then, as had a meeting in Tetbury. Pottered up there using as little boost as possible, and all was OK.

Left the place and stopped in the nearest layby and broke out the toolkit... I love side of the road work... lol.

Here is the OEM pipe:

Me thinks it be a spot on the broken side. This is the second one I've had on as well!

Anyway, broken out the Forge one and fitted:

lol, you did it on the side of the road and still took photos for us at AS.N, :applaus:

Yarp, you can even see my little, crappy, Draper Value tool kit I keep in the car that I used to do it!

I actually broke the ratchet and threw it into the hedge in disgust!

What a POS.

Most interesting g/s its a pity the 1.25 rules doesn't seem to apply here(323bhp :) ) or maybe it does but just not on the rollers.I am struggling to get my Hybrid over the 250gs mark,

Did you log time(011) at all? and here is a log of mine from today for you to compare, your S3 is looking pretty frickin healthy.Bummer about the hose, i must get of my a$$ and do mine.

Can't get mine upto 7000rpm, it takes to long the turbo's all puffed out at 5000.

Badger 5 Edition custom software mate... rev limit is what you want it to be... in this case (and mine) 7.8k :)

<tuffty/>

Good stuff, I drove a Revo stage2 with 3" downpipe, and that revved to 7200, the turbo spooled up very quickly in that car, which made it feel plenty quick.

rev limits are for p*ssys LMAO

(Says he with the 6800 limit he hits regularily just as he reaches the gearlever to change. GGGRRRR)

jojo you need to swap your AMD for a Revo asap

Indeed I can....

See here http://www.thewellings.co.uk/audi-sport/hybrid/K04-Hybrid-Breakdown.pdf. It's in PDF Format.

Bear in mind that I would highly recommend rods being added to this if not already installed. Also necessary is a 3" downpipe and sports/de cat.

I have both of these in situ already.

Bear in mind there will be addition to this along the way I'm sure.

How close did you come to being on your original budget...would be good to know, for people thinking of going down the hybrid route :)

Looking good Bill.

Don't see the point, the extra revs don't give you any more power, ok, you can hit 60 in 2nd, but it's dead beyond 6500revs, better to change up! Plus I have shown that my 'classic' AmD stage1 map is a match against a Revo owner on ASN already. :)

I haven't but I can do if you want. Will go out and and log when I get 5 mins.

There looks to be more timing advance to be had from your engine dude.... 0 CFs across the board there...

looks like it is breathing like a good un, could you add more timing pull?

Not really at the moment dude. Timing is dialled forward 1.5 degrees more than the map, and that has built in timing advance as well....

Was 3 degrees, but CFs were getting a bit high under heavy load.

WMI baby, Here is some timing from the spin home tonight, i will log it against 020 tomorrow so you can get an idea. The timing on the log is not crazy but it is advanced, i put *9 on this engine on a stage 2 with WMI and there was 0 Knock, *9 scared me so i brought it down to *6 for every day use.
Haven't seen and EGT over 860c with WMI and if i do i reallt know i'm tearing the Bollix out of it.

Finally sorted out a lot of basic issues with my Hybrid build so i am heading back to the dyno tomorrow to see what difference it made.

OK - results are in.

The thing looked a bit rough around the outside edges, but the lad who did it was saying what a pain in the **** they are to make. Only cost me a tenner in the end.

Is now running with no blowing manifold..... So far so good anyway,

Still awaiting my injectors though....

Sorry Welly, saw this picture and thought of your gasket, lol

lol @ Gasket

I have spoken to a gasket manufacturer and am waiting a sample of the material they propose..
this would suit the hi-flow k04 manifolds..

That will be useful.

OK OK, the damn thing was ugly, but the bottom line is that it works! lol. Once fitted, no-one sees it. All good

lol, did he use one of them new fork and spoon CNC machines.....lol

****** nice work on the welding there Bill.

On a slight side note, a lad I work with says hello. Justin Yates? I think you either helped or gave advice on the 1.8T GT3071R Dual Roller Bearing Turbo build behind this;

Thanks, i pulled 305BHP and 329lb/ft today, the map still needs work, the power delivery is all over the place, the guys in ireland are struggling with this i think, so i might have to get on that ferry after all.
I can post logs if ye all want.

Go on dude! You must have ALL the boost for that torque! lol.

Boost gets you laid, LOL (so i hear)

Apologies for the scans, my scanner is a piece of junk. What i noticed today is, its spikey very spikey(check out the twin peaks graph) and its running lean top end.See for yourself. It still needs work on the delivery but there is more potential here i feel.
