Where did you buy this from and how much did it set you back?

I don't know full figure just yet, just got into a group buy from across the pond but should be around $130ish...

Car looks nice btw, the garage did a good job.

Yes I did need new door switches, Yes I did have to change the door modules I used G's as could not use M's.

New door switches, for what & who ever told you that you couldnt use M's is a ****** liar, the looms need to be repinned, but I have fitted J, M & P's to none facelift cars now & just rewired, worked 100%.

The G does not categorically support mirror indicators as its a prefacelift door module, has to be one of the above already quoted to be coded per oem.

By the way, I think I read somewhere that you were able to code the LED's without wiring?

Code what led's?

Cannot find a part number for love or money :sadlike:

Just goto etka for MY11, its in plain view under the relevant section.

new switches arent required tbh as you no doubt know nhn just a complete rewire (got mine all done and tidyed up yesterday)

i had a look into the indicator issue tbh you could always just wire directly to the convenience module like scottie did and voila, but since i got facelift doors i didnt have to worry ;)

he is refering to the drl headlights, and if your car is bixenon, a recode is all that is required to enable the leds (including dimming on indicate etc)

on darker colours (and non folding mirrors granted) i think the MY11 ones look a lot better

Hadn't seen this post, I know the MY11 have a smaller dimension than the dumbos and if they folded in not up I would have had them. With them folding up, this exposes the mirror to dust, water marks and when it rains, the caps collect water (I think) unless they are designed with a run off and lastly more exposure to vandalism to the glass. But as the saying goes, one man's meat..

This was me trying to do some of the work myself! I din't have folding mirrors originally with the car so was missing the folding mirror switch on the door card but changed this when I fitted heated leather S-Line seats in the car. I had the facelift folding mirrors for a year but had not activated the LED indicators as I still had the wing indicators. I tried the M door modules but the central locking was going haywire so used the G's instead then wired to power module when facelift was done.

I think Phil had stated he had coded his facelift LED headlights in a previous thread without the need of rewiring so was asking whether he had any DIS errors.

I wish I had ETKA myself would be so much easier! My dealer is away so I've had to rely on others. They can only find the non-perforated one (SKH) for some reason.

Well explained Phil thanks, lucky you with your latest highend power module to be able to code without rewiring, I was going to upgrade mine but heard one gets the 'Christmas Tree Effect' so I haven't done unless NHN knows how?

Your car is coming on great by the way Phil, can't wait for the big reveal!

thanks mate not heard of the crimbo effect but glad it didnt happen to me!, perhaps but id doubt it dont think nhn is as keen on doing the bodywork required for this facelift as he is on wiring interior mods etc maybe though

haha neither can i. cant wait to drive it at 50mph and not let anyone pass me to keep it pristine

I see you have the same issue I do. The rear well liner does not meet the rear bumper. I imagine you don't really care about the looks. However, if you do, then you may want to get the part number for the S3 liner and plastic part which connects the liner to the rear bumper and send it to me. I can't seem to get eny help so far

i can confirm that m modules do indeed work the mirrors, indicators folding and autodimming are all functioning

Is it me or has this thread now left aligned in the browser?

Yes M modules do work, but in my case it was easier to use the G's to avoid rewiring my power module, then wire just two wires for the LED indicators. Job done!

Hmmm, seems fine to me..

just hard to rewire the door cards, 1st one took an hour, 2nd took 5 mins and i have full spec in the mirrors and door cards with ambient lighting etc

Yeah, have interior lighting, and needed to swap door card looms too. OEM dimming coming soon, watch this space!

i thought the al was for the leds?would i not be able to use the al from xenon prefacelift??if cheaper than kufatec al

AL is only for the headlight bit (bi-xenon) the LED's don't use AL. Yes, you can use AL from prefacelift like I did, but I'm sure it's the same system like in the link...

there is no difference in the auto levelling system it price or function kufatec is marked up for the idiot proof looms they make for you you cant buy all the stuff in that pack from audi

so basically cant use auto levelling i have now becuase its for halogen bulbs and i need xenon al,yes? and kufatec al will work out cheaper???

you dont have auto levelling if you have halogen. you will need to retrofit the system

the guy who i am giving my car to do the conversion has done 4 and not put al on any!!! but i would rather get it done to be safe.is it a big job???if i get it from audi does it all come in one set??

Halogen equipped cars have manual levelling, there is a switch in the car with a headlight symbol marked 0 - 3 (I think) that you have to adjust yourself depending on how many big boned people are sitting in the car. AL retrofitting is a biggish job but I'm sure it has been done on here or on another forum. You will not get everthing from Audi, Kufatec get everything you need and sell it as a package.

nhn has done lots of al retros, it would cost you though the previos conversions may have already come equipped with xenons and if its that guy on ebay he hasnt even been putting the right mirrors on id steer clear personally

what mirrors has he put on?with out indicators? what price on labour to retrofit al

he hasnt put any on he has left them without repeaters, no idea on the al retro or on most costs i do the work myself

Hopefully NHN will come along (or PM him) and let you know much it would cost you, parts required etc as he's the expert on such subjects..

Revive this thread a lil :) What is involved in having to re-wire the power module if 'M' modules are used? Is it worth ordering/ seeking out G's to avoid this as you done dean or is it just to save a little time? GArage will be doing the work so if G's save labour costs I may seek those instead

It's alive! :w00t:

Lol, I did try using M modules but then I could not get in ther car afterwards due to door modules wired differently and I had not upgraded my CE unit as well. G's were plug and play and supported folding too and all I had to do is wire in the indicator wires and code to suit and voilla, job done! This may be different for your car though so just beware. Where are you having yours done?

lol :D

Haven't found anywhere yet, been speaking to a few body shops near to me (London), but want one that has experience with A3 new shapes in particular. I have found a few different CE's I may go for a K as you used. If that will do the job, from what I understand it isn't the 'highend' 30 byte CE, but a 23 byte 'medium' CE is that correct? Not that I could tell you what the difference between the 2 are though :D lol!!

Plug n play sounds good with the 'G' module, if it saves time then I'm game as it will dave €£$ to. How can I tell what module will be required for mine then or is it all about what I module is currently in the car?

Looks like I'll be needing VAG.COM soon as well

Good luck with the search, make sure they know what they are doing with regards to the facelift, not the easiest of things to do but it's possible.

So long as the CE is highend and above an F revision then you should be ok. K has been superseded by P revision but this one has had some problem I've heard on retrofit..

I don't really think it matters as such what one had before, I had H modules and went backwards to a G!

Defo need VCDS, I was working overtime with a borrowed one, now I can think about it a little than trying to do everything at once..

I've got VAG.com .....If you need to do anything Let me know.....
