Wow! I thought there was 6 month waiting list on this car??

I'm having no luck with the dealers so I have contacted the brokers instead and they all seem to be very helpful and willing!

Just waying it all up, and I should hopefully be ordering this Sunday.

Have you tried Autotrader for pics?

You've picked a great car there and I can assure you that engine is superb!

Enjoy!

Those wheels are the s-line option wheels...

I live in Cyprus - But i got her for 22500 Euros in the end i manged to get around 2-3k discount, the wheels were one of the optional extras available for an extra 500 Eur - i also had a choice of the RS4 wheels which my missus whent for as well as the anthracite version. so far i have been really impressed with the power from such a small engine and the handling as well. If you are considering modifying you car and you come across any parts please let me know as thats the biggest problem i have faced with this engine so far. I have manged to find some discs, coilovers, ARBS, Induction Kit and a Revo Remap so its not all that bad.

Any plans for yours ?

Cheers guys, Ibis looks brill, mines got the factory fit standard wheels on and the only options are Cruise, could of done with folding mirrors to ease in and out of the garage but that would of been an extra £1K due to it being a factory order instead of the built car i have gone for. So will have to get used to pulling the drivers mirror in instead of twiddling a button.

Had the 1.4T in my previous SE and i fully agree its a fantastic little motor that returns near 50 mpg on a long run and its also got that little bit of go when required.

How do people get on with the Start/Stop system that the A3's have now, the missus is a little concerned and i may have to get it switched off.

I believe there is quite a waiting list for a factory order which was what i was initially after but this one was built and kicking its heels somewhere in the UK (stock) so 1K difference between factory order and stock (with cruise thrown in by the dealer) swung my decision.

2 weeks between signing and picking it up, feel like a kid at Christmas again, cannot wait.

To be honest - i hate the Start/Stop System, at first the engine is very quiet at a stand still anyway so you do not even realise that it is off then next you know u lift your foot of the cluch and it turns back on. i really do not like it! and it has become a habit for me to just turn it off the second im approaching a stand still.

But you may dissagree, let me know how you get on with it :)

Very lucky! I had no luck with the dealers, I had one which you mentioned in the PM but I phoned him up and wouldn't mention a figure and wanted to 'meet' me. So I couldn't be bothered going down for him to say 'no' and he had already said he won't sell at drive the deal price - so I thought there won't be a decent discount!

Tonight, I have ordered a Ibis White Audi A3 S Line 1.4T 3 Door with Privacy glass, iPod Dock and Xenon headlights with DRL through Drive the Deal. I haven't done this before so I had a read through the terms and it seemed to be ok, just have to wait for the dealer to ring and agree that price - NOT BUILDING MY HOPES UP YET!!

Will let you all know how everything goes, and my experience with them!

Thanks

MattyW19 - TFSI - Any plans to mod your cars ?

No mods for my sline, apart from a good lick of Megs polish, tyre black, wheel polish and a audi sport sticker in the back window if you can still get them.

Boot liners so my fishing gear dont make a mess anywhere.

Oh and if i can find one a sline badge for the front grill but will have to be a good one.

Insurance would probably say no if I added any mods! One thing I will be doing is adding the S3 pedals!!

I had a phone call from Drive the Deal to confirm things today, and they mentioned that he can only say expect it around June 11? Is this correct? I said I would get back to him, but wanted to double check with all!

I asked about a Scirocco lead time, and they said April - May, so I contacted Volkswagen and they said '2-4 months' and we have pre-reg cars.

I get the feeling that I am being told different things everywhere I go?

dealers will be optimistic about lead times. they know they'd lose sales if they weren't. take what a main dealer says with a pinch of salt.

youll need some black mirror covers for it, if your car has dumbos i have a pair, freshly sprayed in phantom black for sale complete with indicators pm me with an offer

I'm going to confirm with Drive the Deal tomorrow and see how it goes! You never know, the dealer could ring yet saying they can't supply the car at the price Drive The Deal have quoted - Which would be unexpected! I'm prepared to wait to around May, but I think a 8 month waiting list is a bit over the top! Surely Audi would realise that demand has stepped up for the A3, so to increase production, rather than decrease it for the A1?

In general, how long are customers waiting for an A3, is is on average 6 months?

I had to wait 2 months before car arrived, but then audi managed to somehow lose my paperwork in the system how thats possible i dont know, but i had my car a month later. so 3 months all in all.
