The Number Plate LED's

yea it is getting confusing, I will start another about the interior LED's and see if things have moved on from installing the resistors
 
as for teh interior ones go for teh heatsunk units youll not burn anything that way and they have built in resistance
 
yep, got all but the bootlight to work but thats due to only having a crappy led left, ill post up some pics when i transplant the a3 ones into the s3

ahh nice one mate, no sticking in of resistors I hope? Just plug and play? Would def be interested in these
 
Would also be interested in the plug and play method for both interior and exterior LED's. Could someone post some links to bulbs that would work for 59 plate black edition.
 
yep plug and play need to find a solution for the 5w versions but dont worry i will find a suitable bulb as ive got the full ambient lighting ill need quite a few of em :laugh:

im gonna look out some tonight for trying, if they work ill let you know not been home yet so i donno but ill keep you posted ;)
 
got the lights when i got in many thanks ill get them fitted over the weekend :)

not a problem mate, always try and get things like that posted ASAP especially when people pay so quickly with pay-pal

now to these interior LED's what bulbs we using for the map lights?
 
imwaiting for a pait to try out in my map lights ill dig the ling out at lunch and when they come ill let you know ;)

Actually I bought the Audi ones not the BMW ones - maybe there's a slight difference.

i already have festoons but ill drag out a supplier and maybe speak about getting group buys for kits of them dependant on if you have puddle lights etc

did you go for different sizes of festoons mate? group buy might be an idea but could take some time to sort and different bulb type may be better from different suppliers, what do we need altogether then for the 3door?

2x vanity lights
2x rear courtesy lights
2x front courtesy lights
2x front map lights
1x glovebox light
1x boot light

optional:
2x puddle lights
2x footwell lights

Sorry guys - I'm only after some sidelights that actually work !

Courtesy lights etc. may come later but it's the 501's I need
 
Tee hee, I know that but the ones P5SND linked to and where I came in were 501's for the sidelights !!

He said 'i'm giving these a go' which is when I asked him to keep us posted.

How did we get from number plate bulbs to sidelight bulbs and then to interiors ???

lol yea was going to make another thread but no point, i made the thread and did the number plate ones that were recommend and now i'm going to do the interior so just continued to post in here in the hope of the same solution as the number plate
 
So will he let us know about the 501's when he's tried them ?

5w's are for the map lights, if youre wanting togo for the led colour on the sidelights get a piaa blub they are faarr better now, i dont have sidelights anymore due to the 2010 facelift ;)

bump, any MY10 S3's managed to find a brand/supplier that does LED license plate without throwing a DIS error?
