Lets get it on then, My 2.1 conversion

MOT retest this saturday @ 10am The emissions were high because of the 120 cell cat and the damage i did to it as well with missing and damaged rings so now i've had a 200 cell stainless steel cat fitted and also had a decat pipe made up for after the MOT.

I also managed to get a full refund off relentless as i complained to them again about there down pipe and cat

Must get my thumb out my *** to get and a few things done to the car as i've been shopping again

Things to fit

Jamex coilovers
S3Daves adjustable tie arms
Golf R32 ARB's
2nd fuel pump
AEM water/meth injection
Get camera out to take some pictures

I'm also going to book it in for a full respray

She passed the mot with the new cat.

Took it out for a little careful drive after fitting the decat and quickshift, the quickshift feels so much better and with my solid mounts for the cables it has transformed the shift, Exhaust note sounds nice with the decat pipe.

I thought i would have a look at what power and torque its running at 3700 rpm's on the liquid gauge and i got a reading of 206 bhp and 240 lbs on actuator pressure

Only done 100 miles in her today but i still have a bit to go before its fully run in and then i have to deicide what my plans are with the turbo? take it off, port it and fit a 034 manifold or go BT like a GT30

Mate, if I had built an engine like yours it would be criminal not to go BT... I know there is expense involved but tbh as you are doing the work yourself then the cost difference really isn't that much... you have done all the work....

Depending on what you go for mani wise you could go for a full race tubular style mani or if you want to save a couple of quid the Kenetic mani looks ok too... Bill has one of these in atm to see what they are all about... currently sat on an Ibiza with his GT35 on it... looks good fitment wise...

Fabrication wise you would need to sort the downpipe and external gate etc plus water pipes and extend the oil drain (not forgetting the reducer for the oil feed)...

Your choice obviously but with all the work you have done so far it would be a shame not to put it to good use... Hybrid K04 would be lost on your engine and prob drive like a diesel...

Did it go through the MOT using your large injectors or were you running the standard ones?

If you want to go BT then you might want to look at this - £5 over 2.2K seems a remarkably good price for a Garrett GT turbo, Full Race mani, Tial waste gate, Full Race down pipe and all oil and coolant lines, all delivered to your door. Comes via a UK company too so no extra tax and handling charges. You may have to bin or at least modify the down pipe but even assuming you need a new one this seemed very competitive to me.

I asked them which turbos they offered and got the reply "the turbo kit will support anything from a GT28 to a GT35. All are included in the price except the GT35 which is £50 more."

It was on standard injectors when it had its MOT but i do have two sets now 440cc green giants and some 630cc ones

Thanks for the link that is a good price to say i could recoup some of that if i sold my 440cc. Two relentless down pipes thats been modified to fit, CR Turbo that i will porter the wastegate, Tip and other things.

I will be running it in on the K04 and by the time it is run in i hope to have the money to get the GT Turbo

i cant quite understand that ebay sell... bsh is usa company, hel one on ebay is uk.... they are just advertising a full-race mani and gt turbo? and 44mm vband tial, but picture looks like 4bolt tial...

i dont get it..
thats not that cheap. nice gear, but price looks normal to me

I have been doing some thinking and with the help of Bill i'm really starting to side to a GT35 but i will need to add better springs and retainers but the head will have to come off anyway when i do the manifold.

Watch this space

As for been on the road for 5 days i've only done 100 miles as i'm not far from work so it will be a long time running it in.

It rained last night so it was a bit greasy on the roads and i managed to do a bit of drifting in it at low speeds which is fun. Looking forward to getting a GT Turbo if it comes around.

Still need to fit the coilovers and tie bars and take some pics

That will be a right beast Andy.....

You got the coilovers fitted yet mate? When might you get some figures for what this baby is putting out?

Not on coilovers yet as other things need to be done and still have to fit Daves tie bars. No figures yet as i plan to go BT ( GT30 ) very soon but i was a little bad the other day as i'm still running it in and by the liquid it said its putting out 276 bhp @ 4500 rpms.

When i get it back it needs a oil changes as its done 500 miles since its rebuild but i want to do 1000 miles before i say its fully run in.

But anyway here is some pics taken today

What body work is actualy being done?
If its having full paint work on the sides i would not be happy with it being masked like that

I needs it as it had very bad gravel rash on the bonnet, bubbles on the roof rails, rust coming up on the NS rear arch, dents/scratches in the boot lid, and much more

I only has the car 2 and a half months before the oil pump went and they refused to fix it ignoring all my letter and fobbing me off when ever i ring, Trading standards didn't have much luck ether so i'm fixing it and throwing in some performance modifications.

I will take them to court for them to pay up for the standard parts put on the car, crank, big end bearing, bolts etc etc to see if i get paid out?

But anyway let the fun begin with this engine

BTW stay away from Blackburn Motor village trade centre

hi mate, sorry to read about your troubles! outta curiosity, what was the prob with blackburn motor village? was it dodgy history or just poor after sales? my bro is lookin for a car in the next couple of months, and lives practically on its door step: will keep clear pending what you say!

Trading standards said that there name has come up many times

Warranty isn't worth the paper its written on

Poor after sales

The last service it has was done by them, it said it had a cam belt, etc and it clearly didn't have that sort of work done.

Also found that there were a few things wrong with the car that would make it fail a MOT but sold with 12 months MOT so they have some sort of agreement with a MOT station!

Yep a CTS turbo kit with a new GT Turbo the GTX3076r with a .63a/r

Looked at many turbos and found that the above turbo will make the 2.1 pull like a train but still flow as much a GT35

Its said to be rated at over 600bhp but will be happy with 400+

but why lady-boys thats just so wrong man!
havnt these people got anything better to do than go through the whole process of registering just to post up crap!
