you did'nt come across badly mate.. no.. I just wanted to explain why I did'nt want massive qty of cars.
quality not qty. We're ok on numbers currently, and I'm sure there will be drop outs and additions on the day too.

I have been to rolling roads for 20 years now (yes I feel that old!) and have seen a vast array of the good the bad the ugly and hope I know myself how I want to run one, now I have the facility to do so.

I know there's always an aftermath thread where people compare notes, figures, specs and try to explain why things are what they were expecting etc etc etc.. Its so often the case that the runs were done, and nothing logged so its all speculation and conjecture thereafter... So to help folks , I will pre-empt this aftermath by providing logs during the runs. We can all see whats what then and make informed decisions if summats not quite right.

Now.. pre-empting things.. We did the Ajec dyno last time, and got what were extremely low figures off it.. too low to believe imho..
My dyno seems to read spot on power to me, and consistently, where std cars make std power, BUT, remapped cars rarely make the claimed figures we see on so many other peopls rolling roads. (rolling roads where k03s turbos make >230bhp, which they just dont do on mine). Over on SCN in my signature file I have "Honest Advise..." well to me my dyno is an "Honest Dyno" too, and I would'nt want it any other way.

It should be a fun day, so people can enjoy it , learn a bit perhaps, socialise, put real names & faces to forum names etc.

Would also like to remind everyone to double check the way to Badger 5 as while it isn't difficult to find in reaility those using shat navs may well find themselves in a local Stonehouse park or outside Bill's house... we will be at neither places on the day and answering the phone to lost souls is going to be problematic once the dyno day is in full swing...

For those using the M5 to travel from the north I would suggest getting off at Junction 13 rather than Junction 12 as most shat navs will tell you... much easier to find from there...

Hahaha i remember that so well the first time i went to bills to drop mine ended up at the rugby club then the industrial park and both times id drivin straight past his place
 
Shame I didn't see this earlier, as I would have gone for a run. I'm tempted to pop over and nose about in any case, if that is alright.

Anyone from West London region heading over? Would be good to get a convoy going.

There is an SCN RR day ther week before 30th Oct - see here> Badger5 SCN small DynoDay - Oct30th - SEAT Cupra.net - SEAT Forum
Ibiza's need to take note of height... and if lowered be prepared to lift their cars on their coilies on the day..

If he cant do the 30th Oct, then yea come along with ASN, we will try and fit him in on the day

its going to be very busy yes... no chance to diagnose peoples car on this day. book in again if you need something like this done

this is weird, on post #58 i was number 11 on the list....now i'm nowhere to be seen :(

I'll just turn up on the day, i could do with a full diagnostic run in fairness and if times an issue....
 
Is there a limit on the numbers? I remember at the start of the thread it was going to be limited to 10, but now its up to 18! :laugh:
 
lol, I think the 'copy/paste the list and add yourself to the end' process does not work somehow :)

I can bring my VCSD cable and a laptop with me if anyone wants to make use of it on the day. We could log some data on some local national speed limit roads and get knowledgeable people to review them.
 
Jo, I would love to be there, but its Diwali, so alot of eating and drinking is going to have to be done on this day im afraid!! :)

Yes, there is a limit on numbers that will get a dyno run however if after we manage to get through the initial lot with plenty of time to spare we will try and accommodate as many as is practical in a reasonable time...

As Bill has already said he runs his dyno differently to a lot of others and will log the runs via VAGCOM, this will mean a little more time than the usual roll on roll off, cash then printout routine of a typical dyno day...

Please note that I have ordered this list in order of expressed interest on this thread.... I did say initially it would be limited places and I would suggest that after the first dozen runs then it will be working down the list until we run out of time at a guess... assuming up to 30mins per run (inc setup, strap down, warm up, 3 runs and removal from dyno) and starting at 10am (we will be there from 9am setting up) 12 runs will take us until 5pm... it maybe that we can get cars turned around more quickly to speed things up but that is entirely up to Bill and of course how good we get at getting cars on and off the dyno and strapped up :)

Bill feel free to interject your feelings on this...

If someone is not there for their run in time then we will use the next person on the list rather than wait, its the fairest way tbh...

i may be able to arrange magazine coverage of this event if its ok with bill and tuffty??? if so let me no and i will see what i can sort, i cant be bothered to read through the previous 3 pages though but i gather its on the 6th nov?? from 10am?
 
We will keep track of owners logs and contact.. for the limited time on the day, the logs will be sent more than likely after the event, and jpg of the power runs.

haha cheers Paul..... i was going to say don't worry as i wanted the full diagnostic, be good to see what its doing regardless, i can then make a decision from that as to if i need to investigate further or not (still have surging issues on occasion albeit less emphasised)
