Another hybrid conversion thread....

Thats going to increase soon by quite a few bit come january when the tax increases to 20% ini.

Welly, how was the fitment of the pipe werx downpipe and de cat, anything needed adjusting.

Absolutely bob on mate, no problems at all. The XS Power one will be fine once completed, I just used the Pipewerx as I happened to have one, and the XS Power DP had to be sent back.

Once the updated model is available, I'd go with that in an instant. Saves £100 off the bat.

Other Pipewerx DPs I've seen fitted have had no fitment issues at all either.

A very good point about the VAT...

I was just trying to put together a broad brush budget for hybriding so cheers for that Welly, saved me a fair amount of time!

I reckon I'll just approach it a month at a time up until its actually hybrid, injectors and mapping time, spreading the cost out

Ill speak to Bill at some point about labour costs.

That's what I've done to be honest mate, been gearing up towards the hybrid install for about 9 months, doing a bit here and a bit there.

Makes the costs easier to swallow, and most of the bits and bobs will improve performance in the meantime, so it's not all bad....

True that, I reckon I've got a good base to work from now, so I just need more powerrrrr lol

I will ask the question of them now....

OK, I've spoken to the XS Powers that be.... (See what I did there).

They're being made as we speak.... I will be taking receipt of the first one to check it before they then use the new jig to produce more....

welly, looking autobahm88 link on ebay, have it?

There don't look to be any on today mate, I will keep an eye and post a link when one appears....

welly, sent ya a pm.. re 034 mani, please read urgently

Have done - thanks .

Where did you get the 034 Motorsport manifold?

I looked on there website but its not listed?

Friend of a friend - they will be available soon on the website I believe

Hey just been reading this thread VERY closely lol.

What was wrong with the VXR injectors then? Bad spray pattern? I bought some to use on a certain forums members advice on here but obviously no good now lol...

Im currently running my car with the n75 unplugged and it drives fine despite only giving 10psi of boost...

I think before mapping (Wish Bill was closer although I think I am going to have to book it in with him and make an early morning journey down to him whenever he has time lol) I need to get a different manifold and injectors now? If I can hit the magic 300+ though I'll be happy...The more the merrier though...

Dan

Just read page 4! Ignore my injector question.

Those Bosch injectors you have ordered are the same ones as the new z06 'Vette are they not? As I thought these were 550cc at 4 bar?

Would 630cc siemens injectors do the job?

Andrew you said those vauxhall injectors would be ok though LOL Didn't Bill use Siemens injectors on Steves?

I was after some bigger injectors when i was doing mine and Bill said they might work and i did a bit of research on the net and people said they were 470cc but i have found out they arn't as welly found out. I found out the VXR run a very high fuel pressure to the S3, its a shame really as both me and well paid for some injectors that were meant to be 470cc and are not.

You shouldn't believe everything you read on the net

Narh I don't I picked up a second hand set luckily for 60 quid so handy spares lol

I ran these at 26psi and they were overfueling on the map I had which is odd but the map was TOTALLY wrong for the turbo...manual boost controller, no N75 as it was spiking and WELL overfuelling at half throttle. Full throttle and high loading/gears was completely overfueling too....which is odd. It made 270 ish hp with them and this poor map... I think I need some of Bills magic skills lol

Those are 630cc at 3 bar so should be more than enough -> see here for interesting injector rating vs power data.

You might want to check the states first for buying though as these will be cheap to post (as they are light) and will cost half as much. PagParts are doing them for $50 which is about £31, so even if you get stopped by the VAT man they'll probably be cost less imported.

Thanks for the info dude. I think il wait for you to receive your and see what your feedback is.

What will you be doing with your Pipe Werx downpipe and de cat. 1st offers please if you want to sell it.

I agree about having as bigger inlet as possible. I've seen setups that cannot make expected boost due to restrictive TIPs.

Opened them up and all was well after.

Good luck with the rest of the build. Interested to see how it goes when it's all buttoned up.
