My cars booked in on the 23rd for a Remap, im slightly worried about the clutch and turbo, its on 85000miles I get a slight puff of black smoke when I give it beans but thats it. I changed the fuel filter, oil and filter this weekend. Im tempted to get the egr delete kit and fit it before it goes in.
what do you think ?
Its a 2004 a3 2.0tdi

Thanks Simon.

'Should i be worried' Depends on whos doing the remap and how far youre pushing the car

Its being done by R-tech Ive not had a remap before.

There going to fully check all the boost pipe's ect just dont wont to go in and come out with a big bill lol.

If they're not happy with the condition of the car then they won't remap it :icon_thumright:

I used R-Tech on my MK4 Golf and couldn't fault their product or service

Make sure you take a pack of digestives :yum:

Yeah R-Tech have a very good name for there work on uk-mkivs so wouldnt worry, clutch going cant be helped if it does as its a wear and tear item and its coping with a lot more torque, but as i have said many times how you drive before and after the map will have effect on this

Go for it mate ive got the same car mine smoked loads before i had the re-map and it still does but ive done about 8,000 miles since and no problems with my revo re-map, turbo or DSG gearbox. car is alot more fun to drive tho now well worth it. As people have said if you normally drive slow and after the remap you drive like a nut everywhere your clutch will burn out alot quicker. Oh yeh my cars on 110,000 miles so yours will be fine.
