Audi Driver's International - 9th October 2010 - ***Official Thread***

Once again, good to meet some of you I haven't before. Look forward to the next one

Great turnout chaps and chapettes stand looked really good with all those cars (shame they were mostly A3/S3's ;)) weather could have been better but you cant have it all.Was a bit disappointed in the lack of trade stands and eaterys but a good day nonetheless

Had a good day had to go at 2, Sorry spent too much time by the track or in my car eating to be sociable! favourite car was the quattro S1 on Audis stand!

brakes are shot, clutch is slipping. great day though!

I had a rather good day and at one point there was about 40 odd cars at our stand :) good to met a few more of the guys on here. Weather could of been better but it never rained mind

Yes mate, we make it 43 cars and a total of 45 from the list, as 2 cars didn't park in the ASN area.

Currently stuck at work, working my *** off, so sorry for the thin reply. But huuuuge thumbs up to all those who attended, ASN wouldn't be anything without you guys! :salute:

And as always, it's nice to catch up with a few old friends and put some faces to new ones also. :icon_thumright:

Aim for ADI 2011, 50 cars+! :superman:

That'll be me and my parents then! Haha. Sorry I didn't actually get on the stand, it looked a bit cramed as it was. Still was a fantastic day, loved it, more than AITP, actually went and had a look at the rest of the cars and not just the ASN stand. Sorry to a couple of you guys that I said I was going to talk to, was actually on a first date today! How great is it that she loves Audi's! Perfect girl. She even was aloud to sit in the R8 Spyder, rev it, and then rev it hard to get the overrun! Lucky girl, I didn't get to sit in the RS5 :( Can't wait till next year, going to have to go on the track, looked fantastic!

M&S ftw! Yeah realised last year how expensive that crap little cafe is!

Man I am tired now! Great day despite it being ****** freezing at the end of the straight. Good to catch up with some familar faces, meet some new ones AND get a coat of wax on the car at the same time. Especially enjoyed the convoy from the M5; that string of smart Audis making their way down the M5/M4 made me smile all the way to the pub (well, Tesco...).

And now I have an even longer list of things to spend my non-existent money on!

What a great day even if it was a little cold, some of us stayed till the end and managed to blag our way onto the track (thank's Maeve), there was only a total of 20 car's doing the parade lap. Thank's Rob and Helen for the track shot's. (sorry we made you run.) Big thank's to Jojo for yet another great ADI.

gd to see you all , sorry I didnt introduce myself to alot of you but was gd to put some names to the faces and see all your motors.. thought it was a gd turn out from ASN in the end and have to say that Ashley's motor looked the nuts..... HOW LOW!!!, looking forward to seeing all you guys at future events .

Good day as always guys, shame about the weather but atleast it didnt rain properly. sorry didnt speak to all of you but as soon as i clean my car i like to check out the track and hear them V8's V10's and them Turbos going for it. Many thanks to everyone who turned up and Jojo for sorting things. look forward to next year now as this is my fav show of the year. my car is now off into my garage for the winter for a good clean again and then she is going to relax as she done well the past few weeks as she nearly done 1000 miles in 3 weeks which is rare as i only do around 1000 miles every 4 months lol. did ASN win anything at the awards then?????

p.s thanks maeve for blagging us on the parade lap at the end of the day, its what i was waiting for all day but never happend until your irish charm kicked in lol thank you xxx

Just following on from the threads above really - really good to meet some of you and sorry to the ones I didn't but I'm sure I will at the next and future shows. The drive up was fun, thanks to Jojo for your efforts mate, Paul a.k.a Da Doctor for hanging around at 5:30 on an unlit road and everyone I spoke with for your tips and advice (don't worry CMD, I won't say a word mate!!).

I think it's also worth noting how everyone in general was approachable and friendly which I feel was absolutley spot on - sometimes certain shows can be a little "clicky" so ADI ASN 2010 is a big thumbs up to all involved!

Thanks and best wishes

Chris

Good to hear the positive stuff about Audi Sport at ADI.

Just wanted to echo the above comments really. Also, sorry didn't mingle as much as I'd have liked but my mate was tracking his car and spent most of the day on the track in his car.

Weather wasn't quite as forecast (I nearly put shorts on in the morning !!!) - still, at least it didn't rain.

The S1 on the Audi stand was pure porn!

The day was good as always, slightly blighted by some inconsiderate Audi drivers making too much noise in the meeting point near the track, causing the owner of the pub to tar everyone with the same brush and ban us all from ever using it again. Shame really as it's in an ideal location.

I was glad to see some cars dirtier than mine, and if it wasn't for some members assisting me, the car never would have made it there at all, let alone in the rough state she was in,lol So thanks to everyone for a good day overall.

Pics uploading, will link em in tomoz

I've heard a few different stories about this - I'd be sincerely grateful if anyone who was actually in the car park when the landlord came out would drop me a PM...

Many thanks,

Rob.

There was only 3 or 4 of us out there mate, and we really weren't being noisy I'm pretty sure S3 dicky will back us up on that one! I only say this cos you make it sound like we were there with stereos blaring and revving the tits off our cars, where it couldn't of been further away from the truth, there was just a few people stood in a small circle in the cold doing the usual small talk...

In fairness I don't blame the manager for not wanting us to meet there as there was no benefit for his place, but then again he didn't have to be so rude about it either... but when he asked us to leave we left. Has there ever been any arrangement with the crossed hands for using there car park?

Well in future I think we have found the meeting point in the tesco(?)Big open car park, pretty close and easy to find.

And not forgetting Dave a.k.a. davea3 for the drink afterwards - cheers mate!

There were 5 of us that turned up at crosshands bang on 8am and the landlord immediately stomped across the carpark with the attitude from hell telling us to f*** off as we were the 3rd lot he had turned away.If we didnt leave immediately he was calling the police, and this wasnt a meeting place and people were paying £90 a night to stay there and they dont want to hear blaring stereos and revving of engines. He was being really nasty about it all and while i can see it from his point of view he was an obnoxious ****** We didnt even have chance to get out of the car and stretch our legs.

Rob, When I turned up just before 8, there were 3 - 4 cars already parked up.

We started having a chat (we wern't shouting, just talking quietly between us) when a guy came over to us with full attitude and opened the conversation with something like "What are you guys doing, your not staying here?", meaning staying at the hotel/pub.

I replied politely and said we are just waiting for some of our friends to arrive and then we will be off.

He then started saying, you can't park here and then I said we will be leaving in 5 mins. His reply was "You'l leave now!" and then walked off!

Nothing was said back to the chap, we simply had a quick discussion between ourselves and then started to contact Joe to tell him what had happened, and to discuss the new meeting point.

Within 2 mins, all the welsh lot turned up in convoy, we told them what had just happened and then we all left.

We wern't funny with the guy, he was the one with full on attitude.

We have been meeting there since 2004/2005 and this is the first time this has happened.

Whether some other people turned up before us and upset him i don't know. All I can say is we didn't do anything to provoke.

Cheers
Rich.

I think in respect of the meeting point the guy clearly is not a peoples people - I don't think anyone should take it personally - I reckon Tesco's would be better for next year anyway as it gives people to go to the cash points, petrol and food etc.

You can't win with some people and he sounds like a right womble. I hate to think how he would be if you were staying there and complained about the food or something!!! lol

I didnt say it was neccessarily anyone of us, hence i said Audi drivers instead of members. Ahh well what can you do hey !

Fingers crossed he'll be fired by next year haha!

Well guys, whichever way you look at it, we are on HIS land, and it's his right to grumble and moan about it, I'm sure if someone decided to park on your lawn in the early hours, you wouldn't be too happy. So show some respect!

Maybe we have been fortunate in the past, and he turned a blind eye, but not this year, so I guess it's not a future meeting point anymore. The Tesco's car park is a few more miles away, but I think it's probably a better location for a gathering to be fair.

And thanks for the quick headsup and divert on the day also guys, I'm glad I had my handsfree on me!
