It might be useless info to you but the facts are
Once an insurance company pays out for an item it then becomes theirs.
Benskin says in his sig he has now joined admiral insurance. Admiral use a network of repair centres called FixAuto who apart from nearly killing me on the motorway by leaving the lower wishbone undone also managed to leave the entire front bumper loose, lose the battery cover and cover the car in orange peel etc.
Personally i think these are points worth shareing...
No paddy it useless information in general. If you actually read this thread you would see i never claimed through my insurance company or the guys insurance company. And i wasnt insured with Admiral at the time. I instructed a credit hire company (who i work with everyday) to repair my vehicle and supply me a like for like and they would recover all costs of the third party insurer. If you noticed the problem with the bumper, orange peel and lose battery cover. You shouldnt of taken your car back in till you were happy with repairs. And i would of taken the car for a test drive before driving home on the motorway after the accident you had. I had to take my car back to Audi as they dropped it off when i was in work. After i told them not to as id like to check the repairs over. If you have a problem with an insurance company open a thread in the relevant section. There you can share your experience and thoughts instead of boring me when your moaning and tell me that im wrong to ask for the part back. If i was wrong to ask for the part back why would Audi pay out. This is Audi we are talking about its hard enough to get them to do warranty work let alone pay out on a missing bumper. Audi knew they were in the wrong, thats why they paid out. Also Helphire dont pay for repairs bills they forward their outlay to the third party insurer and it will take them about 2months to pay for the work. If i spoke to Helphire about it they would of just taken an amount off the invoice and probably would of even me more.
Due to the relationship Helphire have with the company i work for Admiral by the way
No Paddy the point is it is mine. I bought it and it came off my car. Therefore belongs to me and it my property. The garage have no right to lie to me and say helphire told them to recycle the part or not give it back to me. When i spoke to Helphire to confirm they dont hold any contract and they sent instructions to the garage to release the part back to me.
No point moaning at me regarding Admiral, if you have a problem with your repairs and the garage take it up with admiral simple really. Or change insurers....As it just seems your just gonna be bitter....
