I 'think' I have a problem with the folding mirrors on my car as the drivers one is noticeably slower than the passenger side. I took the car to the dealers last week and they seemed to think it was normal, has anyone else noticed this??

Some discussion with Nigel in another thread seemed to think it was a known issue, certainly on earlier cars.

My MY10 mirrors fold in and out at exactly the same speed.

Exactly my point, my previous S3 had the same speed. Our Seat Leon has them and they operate at the same speed.

Can't see a reason for it.

its a known issue across the mirrors, cetainly the first case ive heard in my11 though im not surprised get audi on it bout time they revised them

My mirrors do the same and i've heard of a few other cases

However, on a brand new car i'd expect Audi to sort it out, keep at em!

58 Plate S3 8P3, fold in at same speed.

One questions though, ( sorry for hi-jacking thread )

Why do they not automatically fold in when put into the fold position when you turn off the car?

never have, i belive nhn has designed a circuit to enable this, he would do it to your car for a cost, top bloke

They are different speeds on my S3 which is a 10 plate.

For me the feature is a complete waste of money. In the seats you can hold down the lock button and they wind in and then out when you turn the key in the ignition. Wheras in the audi you have to fold them in whilst in the car which means you can no longer check them for traffic when you need to exit the car.

Really frustrates me lol

Yer that would be much better, picked up a 58 plate S3 last week and it has folding mirrors. Never had folding mirrors before but these don't seem the best thought out design. Good for car parks and parking at home though.

yeah even my 06 fiesta had it nhn can maybe supply a kit never really asked him how he did it

I thought this had changed for MY11, and they now auto-folded when you lock the doors???

I ****** hope so, I wouldn't have ordered them otherwise.

MY11 S3 SB, one is slightly but noticeably slower than the other.

Has anyone had this rectified under warranty ?

i would say it was, youre only likely to get it replaced untill dumb luck gets two working the same

Mine has been in the dealers all this week, still is in fact, and one of the things they looked at were the mirrors.

They seem adamant it is correct and other s cars they have do the same. Very odd.

MY10 and my drivers mirror folder slower too.

As an update, my car (which I got last week) has this and they fold at the same speed. I have used them a few times and this doesn't change so it looks like I have a 'normal' one.

Still a waste of money though

My driver side is a little slower, the more I keep an eye on it the worst it looks! Doesn't really bother me though, they do the job eventually.
