I know this is the 8P section but I feel I've done so well with the 8P front conversion to my 8L that I feel it belongs here.

Took a lot of work so your compliments will be happily received..

Next on the list of mods.... a rear 8P sportback conversion.

your a sik man... how much? i might look into doing a 8p to 8l conversion after seeing this inspirational piece of work...

Im afraid i dont like it looks to like barryboys.co.uk

wooh bro.. thats a first... hat off to you for doing the mod.. Im sure it will look the nuts when the whole car is finished.. (is the bumper a different colur?.. or is it just the light mate?..) just being reserved until its complete .. gd lad..

Same silver would be better not nice...

I picked up the bumper for £2.50 off ebay. Cost about £100 in sellotape to fix it in place though. Still cheap when you look at the results though. I just don't drive too fast or in the rain just in case the tape comes loose.

Who is barry?

Yeah the bumper is slightly a different colour. I couldn't get hold of the correct silver so used some paint that I had left over when I sprayed my old Vauxhall Nova a few years ago.

Bet it's faster now tho....

Funny you should mention that. When I was doing the conversion i got rid of the Audi Q7 mats I had in there and put in some 8P mats instead.
They fit a lot better and now I can fully press the accelerator down, so yeah the car does go faster now.
Gets in the way of the brake a bit though.

EDIT: I've edited my post as i feel pretty bad at laughing at Aythreee work. And as you can see he put alot of work into this project:applaus: Sorry mate:friends: :respekt:

I'm actually offended that you'd think that. Took a lot of hard work and planning.

I'll stay reserved as well. I just keep smirking when I see it. But each to their own. As long as you are happy with the hard work and planning! Good job!

Last time I checked it was about 19 seconds.
I know that sounds slow but I couldn't change gears properly cos I was holding the stopwatch.

:lmfao:...Im sure you could of done alot better if you just sellotaped the stopwatch to your hand?
That why you can change gear quicker :)

This what you were working on while "away" from forum? (the car, not the joke! :p)

The naughty step can be a bit of a boring place, and while sitting there thinking about a silly mod (of the car variety, of course) I came up with this brilliant one!

Am I correct in saying you guys don't like it then?

I frickin love it, my 8P is now up for sale safe in the knowledge that I can get a cheaper 8L and make it look like that! and for only £2.50! (I have some araldite should cut out the £100 sellotape bill)

Props to aythree ;)

Damn that looks so much better than my crappy old double grill 8P ! Anyone want to buy it for £2.50 to fund the bumper for my new 8LP2 ???

Will the bonnet still open okay? If so, I reckon you should try trimming the plastics to make it all stand out that little bit more. My mum's got a pearlescent silver ironing board cover going spare, I could post it to you if you'd like to snip it up and glue it on somewhere or other?

Car looks bangin.

Aythree, I must say that the amazing transformation you have succeeded in deserves a round of applause, as does this thread.

Appreciate you've put 'alot of time into it', but the standard car looked ALOT better!
