Dyno day at Badger 5-November 6

Those with too low cars will need to be prepared to bring their coilie c spanners and wind the fronts up if required.

as a guide, and if tufftys got a picture, his S3 fits an dis lowered, running 18" rims (the lower side guards on undertray slightly rub the rollers thats all)

Paul does weigh a little more than the average bloke too so factor that in ;)

I'd of like to come to this but 4 hours is a bit of a trek, be nice to see how the different maps compare on the same rollers...

Sweet, i go into work tomorrow and say i need the day off :), may have to miss the remap though, pushing to get the suspension done for the MOT.

I'm in.
Not bringing an Audi (sorry), reccomend participants bring ear protection:)

those will haldex 8L cars will have the fuse removed for the runs to disable 4wd for the runs.. its not just pulling up the handbrake.. thats just not reliable 'off'

I know everywhere is different and it's the first one you've run, for reference I've seen JKM run 28 cars on a dyno day, 3 runs each with a print out, and it was all over by 2pm!

If you've got room I'd love to have a power run, but I guess it's all time dependent so I havnt put my name on the list! Feel
Free to add me if you think there's time!

Cool im all penciled in for coming down for the day. Bill have you still got that spare aircon compressor?

There's no harm in having a reserve list, just incase someone drops out.

Bill will have his hands full on the day also, need a bit more manpower to get through more cars in one session.

Yes I know.. and I know my rollers now have done 35 cars in a day when at previous premesis, but that is not giving the cars the attention they deserve, its not vagcom logging during the runs, and not datalogging either.. I am going for quality not qty for this first day..

I can easily ******* thru cars just giving simple power runs, but, I am all too experienced to know there's always an aftermath from dyno days where people moan and speculate as to what went wrong, what went right, why he made more than me, whats wrong with my car etc etc... ;) So I ill do logs, during runs so all is evident there and then, and proper comparisons can be made, and reviewed thereafter. Doing it this way is slower.. yep.. and not in my interest at all to be honest, as I will make more money if I cram as many power runs into the day, bollocking thru the cars, 3 quick power runs, on-off, printout, money thanks bye, next...... IF that was what I was about. Which it is not.

Hope this explains..
cheers
bill

That's 100% cool Bill, I hope it didn't come across like I was trying to convince you to take a load more cars! I've put my name down on the list anyway as suggested, if there's time then great, if not, it sounds like it'll be a highly interesting day still anyway.

Nice to hear you're going to take a more thorough approach too, almost all dyno days I've ever been to have been of the ''on-off, printout, money thanks bye, next'' type!

We doing a road trip them timothy?

Damn right hobo..... trouble is you wont be able to keep up on the way there cos your mapless, then on the way back....oh...you'll still be mapless ;)
