... who would be either interested in selling a VCDS for pickup, or be able to give me a hand re-coding my RNS-E, any time between now and Wednesday morning? South east being Kent, of course

I installed an RNS-E this week, works beautifully, but haven't been able to test the BT module to check that its in full working order as yet (RNS-E of course just says "Telephone not installed"), and since I'm off to Europe for a few weeks on business I'd like to get it all sorted before I leave ideally

Its tight notice - but is it a possibility for anyone?

Thanks in advance guys! Oh, if any of you know a way for me to check the BT module without recoding... would also be appreciated. At least I'll know whether or not I need to send it back (plan is to be able to use it on those long 6 hour drives, mind).

Yeah have done, I had a private chat with 347 (John) during the week and he said he didn't mind - but we didn't talk seriously about doing it so soon. I was writing a PM to him asking if he minded on such short notice, but decided I'd ask more openly so as not to make him feel obliged or anything.

Longman (Robert) said he wouldn't be free for a good 2 weeks and to hit him if I still need help after that. I've not read good things on this forum about VW Cruise (Happy Dayz) in North West London, but called in to them and they're busy either way (and want £100 to re-code my RNS - which as I understand it is a 2 minute job?)

I'm in two minds about whether I should just buy one - at the moment I'm in what I guess is a queue talking to NHN about what I want to do with my A3. So on the one hand I don't need one as I'd be seeking the service of a pro to help with mods anyway, but on the flip side of the coin... I need this stuff sorted sooner rather than later. Opinions?

Edit: Other thing is even if NHN can ship one on Monday, not sure if I trust the post to deliver on time (not unless I have to, of course).

Don't worry as I said I totally understand... I just hope you don't take it the wrong way when I try and get things sorted another way!

My job has me hammered on skype/email/younameit constantly by customers and fans asking for freebies, inside info, etc... and often its difficult to tell out of any 1000 messages which ones you need to let in and which ones you need to tune out.

Couple that with no time to filter through the crap and yeah, that's a tricky place to be!

Yeah that's where I'm torn Sarah, in some ways I'd rather not have it so I were forced to seek out a Pro before... well, breaking stuff.

Gonna wait to hear back from Nigel before I take up anyone else on their offers.

Ironically whilst buying the VCDS enables me to complete other mods on my own, it would also take enough out of my pocket to make me want to hold off on them! And yeah as I said, I have a more than a few ideas spinning around in the back of my head that I won't want to take on without a pro who has hands-on experience.

But hey, if you guys highly recommend getting it, and it solves my problem... then sure, I respect your combined opinions enough to go with it.

Will get myself up on the list to help out others too, that should fill out a small black zone east of Nigel around Canterbury.
