Welly, have you got a price for all the fuel system parts needed.

Nathan

Well, a string of disappointments today to be fair.

No VXR Injectors at Vauxhall - Monday for them.

No Fed Ex to pick up my old turbo. Despite having phoned CR Today to confirm that they had ordered the collection.

All in all, not happy. Not a good start to the project.

OK then.

After Friday last week's epic fail on gathering parts - some headway has been made today.... :)

VXR Injectors are picked up and in my grubby little paws...

These are a bargain. £65 per injector, or cheaper if you buy them together on the rail as I have.

4 hole spray pattern, and as mentioned before, 470cc flow rate.

Shibby.

Turns out that, despite me waiting at the office ALL DAY for FedEx to pick this turbo up, they mistakenly sent a ninja driver... :ninja:

Apparently, he came at 12PM, and there was noone there.... He left an imaginary card and everything...

Oh well, should be collected today. And if not, the Gloucester FedEx depot may just spontaniously combust....

:eyebrows:

OK, success. I found out what happened on friday with the turbo not being collected also....

Turns out that the FedEx dude has been delivering all our packages for work (and also tried collecting from) another IT company down the road.

So, we've been having our products delivered to a competitor... Great! Fortunately they were good enough to bring them up to us. I phoned FedEx and explained what was going on and the woman got on the blower to the driver. I suspect he may have had an ear bashing, as he wasn't a happy camper when he came to get the turbo!

Also had another delivery today....

Glad you got it sorted mate... Spoke to CR today and its all looking good for my turbo to be sent out tonight to receive tomorrow :D

They are short staffed atm though but do to be turning stuff over pretty quickly so all good....

I've spoken to Vince at length today what with the saga of getting the exchange unit collected and he said they will do their utmost to get it back by the end of this week. He apologised profusely for the delay in picking it up as well, not that it was in any way their fault.

Got to hand it to those blokes at CR, I would recommend them to absolutely anyone. One of the few companies around these days that remember that the customer is the customer.

I was impressed by CR turbos. Sent mine off Monday got it back Friday A*

World of difference between the two... this is a k04 hybrid conversion thread....

ok so how much better are the hybrids to the standered ones then mate

OK true believers....

CR have been on the phone. Confirmed that the housing on the turbo I sent them is tickety boo - which is a relief. The shaft inside the turbo was bent which is no surprise, but it's having a new core anyway so that's irrelevant.

So, they are doing the do with it and I am looking forward to it's arrival very much indeed.

Will be ordering the parts required from Euro Car Parts tonight to get them here for Monday AM.

And that is that at the moment...

I will post pics when the new blower arrives.

PS. I find it funny that this thread is onto a second page and I have actually, so far, done sod all....

Thread interest breakdown:

10% = Hybrid conversion itself.

The other 90% = What Welly finds along the way of doing the conversion, including finding other mumified bits of anatomy, other worn / broken / missing parts that are not part of the build, non-associated costs, courier delivery failures, Welly killing said couriers after losing his patience with non deliveries and then finally the 'happy ever after' ending when he completes the conversion and RR's his car to see it hitting the magic 400bhp figure :).

Good luck mate, I'm sure you'll be getting your hands dirty soon enough!

Lol, I read this as controversial!

Loving it so far . . . it being the pics of the injectors... and the FedEx FcUkUp!

I think Welly must have really ****** Fed Ex off as they appear to have kicked the box around the depot containing me repaired GT30 from CR... the V-Band flange took the brunt and is nicely tweaked back :(
