Tee, i would assume that as your car has not been delayed specifically from a date you had been promised it you would not be eligible for the free car. We have all had a delay in some form or another due to a factory error so hence our situations.

Your car is going to come when predicted so thats what you signed up too i guess.

ive obviously not been given a build week yet, however ive seen on here that some guys arnt expecting their cars til april 2011 so im guessing im behind them in the que? thats potentially a 6months+ waiting time for me without a car.

Im presuming then, then when they come back to me with a build week thats way into next year, its just a case of tough luck?

As of yet my dealer hasnt given me any idea on lead times, he just said he will be in touch when he finds out. Surely they cant expect people to wait 6,7 or even 8 months for a car.

The thing is, it was YOUR choice! (and mine btw) I ordered mine 2nd week of July and was told from the off that it would probably be 2011 before I got delivery. I signed on the line. Noone forced me. I've still not heard a word from the dealer.

The thing is, it's really taking the shine off the "new car" experience before it's even begun. Audi really need to up their game, but from their point of view, why bother? Whilst ever we queue up and wait these ridiculous times they will carry on doing it. You can bet if everyone cancelled their orders alarm bells would ring...

Im thinking about cancelling my order - I have a funny feeling that the leadtime will get longer and longer. I notice they have a used Ibis White S3 for sale in Derby (on the used car locator) It has black painted 20 spoke alloys and the black styling pack. The model I ordered was a 3 door S3 B.E with Bucket Seats and Sunroof - could the bucket seats be retro-fitted ?

Blue ive drove that! its a really nice car. you couldnt go far wrong getting that. i could ask my guy there to see if he can get it lower for a mate if you want?

Richy, Thats really nice of you and thanks for replying ! I really cant justify waiting 9 months plus for a 3 door hatchback ! Its not as if we are ordering Zondas here ! I do really like the look of that Ibis White one - even more so than the new B.E as I dont like the new B.E rims. If only it had the buckets though........I might have a trip up to Pride Park and have a look. Thanks again buddy !

hi guys i ordered my A3 sport back black edition a couple of days ago, and i guess after reading everyones posts on here im in for a long wait. I do have a question though.

After reading through peoples posts i see that some people who are experiencing long delays for their black edition, have been provided with free courtesey cars under Audi's mobility scheme.
What i want to know is, how many weeks/months people are waiting before Audi offer this option??

From my understanding, the way it works is this:
If you order an Audi that has a long lead time (subjective I know) or is using a time sensitive part-ex, you are eligible to claim a courtesy car. However, this is only applicable if when placing the order the long lead time wasn't stated or taken into account. For example, if the delivery moves back 2 months and you are part-exing a car, you can still part-ex the car in on the original date and take a courtsey car.

Any customer, private or business user, is eligible but it can take a up to 4 weeks to arrange the car and availability is not guaranteed. I also believe that you need to insure the vehicle yourself.

As already stated here and in previous posts, if you were told 6 months when you signed up, it is highly unlikely you will get a car from Audi, unless you are part exchanging and there is a reason why you need to get rid of the car early. If the date moves back in the future, put the claim in...

I saw a transporter on the M1 southbound near Leicester this morning full of Audis and right at the back was a 60 plate (KU60***) S3 SB BE in Ibis with the open sky, so I wonder if that is destined for anyone here? I was thinking of asking him to pull over and do a swap as I really regret not having the open sky now . Will have to talke to the lease co. about doing the vinyl instead!

Had a brief chat with dealer. Our order in July was a 'spec change' order already in the system due to be produced week 40. Now BE delayed to week 7 2011 (+ 3/4 weeks delivery) it will arrive amid March. 8 Months after the order. He also reckons as it was a Spec change and BE delays were known Audi are unlikely to cough up. Who is taking the ****. 8 months for delivery £1400 more than quoted.. I am well hacked off. Watch this space.

you and your pipes! its a 140 so single, i looked at all the stock and all had just single pipes. no telling what was a 170 or 140 though so no help. at the risk of abuse i asked the dealer who said 170's are single pipes but i will await proof.

Good news - A3 ordered 23rd May 2010 - have just had confirmation through that car will be at dealership next week for collection. When order was placed - expected delivery date was 1.9.10 - so only a couple of weeks late. Had been told build date was week 34, so all in all not too bad.

No you have the choice to remove either the A3 or the TDI badges or both if you want but not the rings.

I was told that the delay with mine was the S-Tronic transmission.

They had left the white protective vinyl over my rear rings thats why you cant see them lol.

Absolutely asap, when i saw the dealer yesterday they had had Audi UK main supplier in that afternoon and based on trends were predicting 9 month leads on A3 and TT's. Even hinted that the new model would be put back into late 2012 as to not spoil the popularity and allow them to launch the new A6 for 2011.

They come off real easy, hair dryer for 30 seconds then take some dental floss to it in a hacksaw motion and then just get some glue away and polish. JD.
