One of my laps @ Nurburgring

I wanna do this 1 day !
Them pictures are well good! did someone take them for you or do nurburgring offer a photo service where you can buy photos ?
 
I too need to do this, Im driving to France soon, be tempting to nip over for a blast.

How did the S3 feel on the track? i did Brands hatch last year, but that doesnt compare to the test that track puts a car through!

Thanks for all the replys glad you all injoyed it.

The photos. I gave my Canon 7D to a friend who was with us, who is a photographer hence some decent shoots. there are also plenty of photograhers round the ring who put the pics up on the web so you can buy and download later. google nurburgring photo.

we were having a little blast every now and then but mainly following trying to get use to the track, it's so long by the time you get to the end you forgot the beginning. lol

The car handled lovely. i've got AP coilovers and R32 Anti roll bars on there which made a massive difference to the standard setup on Westle's S3.

I would go as far as saying it's up there in the best 4 days of my life. can't wait to go back next year.:thumbsup:
 
Don't mean to be rude but did it cost a lot of money to go there and go round the track?
 
I think it cost about £650 all in. we got there on one tank all the way i was amazed 420 miles its a record for me.
so two tanks there and back
euro tunnel £150
35 euro a night hotel.
it's about 22 euro a lap but the more you buy the cheaper it becomes so i think 8 laps was 80 euro.
you need petrol for the track they sell 102 ocatane for the same price as our 99 at shell "SWEET"
food and drink money
you don't really need alot more.

sorry plus 30 euro for 20 mins on the michael schumacher go kart track which is on the way to the ring. "the best go karts i have ever been in" talk about pimp my go kart. Lol
 
That pretty good if its one of the best days of your life I think it would cost me a bit more but would still be worth it.
 
what hotel did you stay in when you was out there ?

i stayed in one that was only about 5 mins from the ring but it was 170 euro's a night. so not cheap lol

Also, I remember reading somewhere that recording videos was not permitted. Was this the case?

Westle what was the name of the hotel? it was about a 10 min drive really nice little place.
im not to sure on the average speed as i don't think i even looked down at the dials, i'd say somewhere between 70-90 cause there is a lot of corners. you can really get you speed up in about 3 places over 110.

as for recording videos NO your not permitted but to be honest i had it recording with a marshall looking in the car before even going on the track and he didn't say anything. i think there only bothered about it if you have a crash same with timing your laps aswell. don't take my word for it tho I might of be lucky!!!

Ohh thinking about i had used my iphone to record the video with a window mount. maybe he thought it was just a phone.

Edit: no I didn't wear one. it is advisable tho something like 30% of deaths on the track could have been avioded if they had one on.

Before you go read every single page on the website. very useful info on here. plus a bit of a eye opener as well.

thats amazing! i went 16th - 20th august for my first time. i got about 370 miles to my first tank, i thought that was amazing!

and an audi-sport.net trip should be organised there! i NEED to go back!
 
I cant remember the name of the Hotel but it was a dutch one that was just off the main high street in Adenau, about 200 yards down the road from Pinochios Restaurant.

In past years I've always stayed at Eddys hotel which is the hotel right next to the track that you can see on all the games where you come down the steep hill. That was 35 Euros a night.

Good going westle upfront in the standard to the most part S3. One of my friends put me to shame though doing a 9.45 lap on his second run I believe in a standard mk1 leon cupra. He has race experience though.

Lots of fun but Id never find myself pushing the S3 to its limits 1000 miles from home. Quite fancy a track car next time round.

Can't watch the video diff now as I'm sat in pm having just finished a steak!

We hit a top speed of 141 through SX last night! Been doing 9:20's all week in traffic, managed 2 clear laps last night and did 8:59 and 8:58 :)

Will post vies when I'm home!

waaahooooo. lol. as benskin07 said im going to look in events to see if there is a possible trip. i wanted to be going again around easter time, again later in summer also. id be well up for organising it with others, picking dates to suit us all.

nah, I live in blasingstoke! This is my 3rd trip here, done 21 laps in total now, 18 in the a3s.
Considering it's got a st1 map on an otherwise standard 1.8t engine I'm happy

I'm perfectly happy with any of my lap times and I'll never push to get something better. My S3 has to get me home and has to get me to work again on the monday so I dont like to take any unnecessary risks.

The last lap we did was 2 hours before we left for Calais and we both said we'd "take it easy" but we ended up doing our fastest lap of the weekend and both had a scary understeer moment. If you're all lucky S3 Babay might post it up (nudge nudge, wink wink)

I would love to go to the ring with a cheap stripped out 205 or something and blat it round without worrying about a few minor offs :)
