I have a couple of questions. My car was mapped when I bought it (Audi 1.9TDI, 2001 AWX) It was originally a 130bhp. Goodness knows what it is now.
The problem is I have just fitted a brand new clutch ( the last one lasted 5 months) and first run out as soon as any of the huge amount of torque is used the clutch slips. Not at launch but when accelerating from say 70 mph to 80mph. Not flooring the throttle either just a gentle push.
Have I got some other issue?
Would having the car put back to standard 130bhp MAP stop this happening?
Can anyone recommend someone to do this for me in West Yorkshire?
I am on the verge of getting rid of the car over this so any advice would be very welcome.

If you have just had the clutch replaced and it is still slipping, then they have done something wrong. A map on its own should is not enough to kill a new clutch. Either they have had you over at the garage, or you have got some serious fire power under your bonnet, in which case i will take it off your hands!!!!

Was the flywheel checked for warping, surface glazing etc?

I fitted the clutch kit, complete. The DMF was changed less than 6 months ago. The system was checked for leaks and bled with fresh DOT4 fluid. The clutch operation and pedal feel great, but once rolling any spirited acceleration from around 2200 revs makes the clutch slip. Normal driving gives no problems. The only thing I can think is the torque is too much for the clutch. There were only 2 types of clutch that were available as this is the AWX. I wanted a Sachs but was told direct they didn't manufacture one for my car. The only thing I can think is to have the car mapped back to standard or set fire to it....lol

To update this went to a place in Bradford and had the map adjusted. De-tuned for less torque and BHP. The result is that the clutch no longer slips when pushed hard. the difference in power is noticeable but not massively so.

sounds to me like your flywheel wasn't skimmed which is a mistake on torquey engines!

Mine was fine for a while on the old clutch. The flywheel was new. the new clutch had 23 miles on it when it slipped again. don't get me wrong it wasn't slipping all the time but the fact I could make it do it was enough to know that it's life would be short. car drives perfectly now but I preferred the mapped power. I am thinking of a B7 soon anyway so I suppose the reliability will be a better option at present. Thank you for all the replies :)
