Hope someone can help.

When I start the car from cold, I get a buzzing noise for about a minute. It's only when the car is stone cold, and as soon as the auto choke cuts out it doesn't make the noise anymore.

Is this normal? Or is it broken?

TIA,

Alan

mine was the same, decided it was either the alternator, or the aux air pump but seemed to come from the rear of the cam cover sometimes, the colder the weather the longer it buzzed.....never got to the bottom of it tho.

Auxilliary air pump sounds like a suspect.......

They sound the same on Vauxhalls when they are on the way out.....

you can disco the aap and see if it stops, i never got round to it before the motor went from sludge. sounded like a small piece of plastic touching a fan blade...? or like those things outa the frosties you put on yer bike spokes when you were 8...

That's what it sounds like......

But only when it's cold (stone cold)

anyone get to the bottom of this? i've the same noise for the past few weeks, concerned i've got timing chain issues

I have a T5 van that does it all the time , turning off engine it can make same noise for upto 5 minutes.
