It appears that my car kit now works as intended after swapping my head unit for S3baby's old one. Mine must have had some weird wiring issue that was causing the kit to crash!

Anyway, now it works properly I want to wire it in properly and I would like to get the A pillar trim off so I can run the microphone wire up it and have the mic up by the sun visor. Can anyone recomend the best approach to get this off and if you have any pics I'll love you even more

I thought I'd asked this question before but I cant find my old post and my limited search skills have found nothing of any relevance.

It just unclips mate... has three of those metal clips VAG love so much... short sharp tug just down from the top of the trim to start... I did use a forked trim tool as I am paranoid but as long as you are careful all will be good... there are a few pics on my build thread from when I did the pillar pod for my boost gauge but they don't show it all :(

Do you have a pillar/curtain airbag? if you have an airbag logo on the A pillar trim then not sure what the procedure is (should be the same) if you don't then no airbags...

If you are just running a mic wire up you can just pull the door seal out the way and run it up without having to remove the trim at all... there is enough space/give in the trim to tuck it in nicely...

Welly....just tuck the wire in, you dont need to remove the pillar, pull back the rubber seal and slot the wire in, no messing about then mate :)

b****x you may be right there mate :)

yup slip it in the seal, its a little tight but you will make life so much easier for yourself instead of fannying about - thats how ive always done it, havent had one come out yet
