Since fitting HID's i have had a gradual build up of condensation in the lights. Earlier today i took the units out and dried them out with a hairdryer. I used sealant to seal the black rubber grommet in the back plate of the unit for the wires to the ballast. I have now got condensation again and its driving me mad!!!

Any Advice?

Thanks

Will

The lights are vented, so sealing the rubber thing wont have made much difference.

Audis answer (which may not work mind) is to run the main beam and headlights for 10mins while stationary to heat the light units up and dry them out.

Will go give that a go and see what happens.

Cheers

Have tried this now but still no luck. There is still condensation in the lights

as silly as this may sound try putting the small bag you get in a box with say new shoes not sure what its called mind but its to stop things getting damp so may help

Will, as Aragorn suggested but try it for a bit longer. Next time you go for a half hour or so drive switch the headlights on and the heat should dry out the moisture. I had the same thing after I bought my car I had condensation in the headlight unit and realised that because i hadnt driven it at night and not had the lights on, the condense couldn't evaporate. I tried mine initially for ten mins or so but it didn'd clear, so then tried it for 30 mins and it cleared it completely. As long as you have no other faults with the unit, this should work. Well it worked for me anyway.

Hope this helps,

me too and the remains of a daddy long legs, but there is a cover missing from the back of both my headlights!

i have a new driver side dipped beam and a old main beam cover if you want one, bought it because the old cover was cracked and i haden't noticed that the headlight casing was cracked.

pm me your address if you want it.

me too!!!!!!! going to pull headlight bulb and feed a small flexi hose attached to a hoover to suck it out 'cos it's ******* me off.
