Good morning all had a letter come today from my local Audi. Estimate cost £1,955.83!
Some of the costs:
Total Paint & Material Cost £326.38
Total Parts Cost £777.41
Hopefully in a week or so once the car fixed i can get the coilovers fitted and be happy.
Also looking at Mk2 Red leather TT front seats beautiful

Thanks Joe, Lol its done my heading, couldnt take it to AITP. Few guys i know asked me to bring the car out for a photoshoot with his Mk4 Golf and M3 but had to say no lol.
Dont have a clue lol any where with a good scene. Haha you can be the polo its vag so thats all that matters lol!

Hi, I just read your 1st post, I rofl'd about you decking that bloke. He obviously deserved it for chopsin! (but he probably didn't want to blame himself or he'd get a rollicking off his boss), but nonetheless hope your car will get sorted soon! and glad you're ok mate!
 
Ok some good news car has been collected and taken to be repaired at Cardiff Audi :)
The Replacement car is an 10plate Golf GT TDI was dropped off yesterday morning came from London a company called Fleet Service. Bit of a bummer as they had nice 10plate A3 2.0T waiting for me but as im under 21, the hire company insurance wont cover me lol. Said they didnt have any diesel A3. But the golf will do:)
Two weeks on and the claim seems to be going some where finally.

A bit annoyed with my sh*t insurance company. Last week they said third party not claiming as no damage or very minor but they already paid a garage to repair it. Spoke to them yesterday and now there saying he claiming through a credit hire company as he TPFT.
He still disputing liability even though i have photosand a witness to back up my statement.
Funny thing about it as im clearly not at fault as i was already established on the round about when he never gave way to his right. The company he using will claim the cost for any hire vehicle or repairs back off the third party. As my insurance wont cover the costs as its non fault accident. And there nothing the third party can do as he would of signed a contract stating if the company he using cant recover all or some of their costs. They have the right to recover all their outlay from you!

Just a bit of warning to you all, NEVER GET INSURED WITH QUINN DIRECT probably one of the worse insurance company you can be insured with. If i never worked in insurance and knew whats goes on with claims. I wouldnt have a clue whats going on, never explained anything. And dont really fill you with confidence when you do speak to them. A quote from one of their handlers " Well either way Mr Benskin your fully comp so your car will get fixed!".
I made the mistake and once you work in the insurance business, the stuff you hear about the company is terrible. And when they call you asking you to take over their non fault claim? Kind of gets you thinking lol

Yeah probably why he was being an **** i spoke to his boss the same day. He was just an **** saying its my fault and i shouldnt of been on the round about lol.

good news on your car then mate are they fixing your s3 bumper or they puting a new one on there , nice loan car mate the a3 would have been better but cant moan at a 10 plate gt tdi can ya hope you get it back soon dude and its gleaming

Scott cheers for that mate. Considering its not my car i dont think i've gone over 50mph!
I'm just use to driving at that speed or less due to having camera with average speed check for 15miles on my way to work lol. And then the other 5miles speed limit 40 lol. May put my foot down at some stage haha!

Cheers for that Fran :D I'm unsure yet im calling them on my lunch in a bit to find out. I think new bumper as had a new bumper on estimate. Im gonna see if i can keep my old S3 bumper aswell! Yeah not a bad loan car its doing its job lol.

It was nice to finally put a face to the name and meet the other half, after all its been over a year and we did have a good day at AITP after all didnt we, well im glad you came

As soon as you get it we me (outsider) and the cardiff boys will have to meet up for this legendary shoot you keep banging on about.

But seriously i hope it all works out well for you, you have put loads of work into your car and we all know how it feels to get even a scratch and be p*ssed off and not want the car anymore but hang in there mate.

cheers mate much appreciated wont be long now till its back either i was up audi on friday trying to get a repair wire for my footwell lights but they said they dont sell it anymore but they do two other wires tipical so ive got the part numbers off the connector now and going back there on monday tipical just one wire holding up my footwell lights the rest is in there all connected up haha

Nope no news had a voicemail off them but that was just saying how much it cost to spray the bonnet just under £300 phaa!
I did try calling them back but the guy i needed to speak to was out.
 
They're always out when you want to speak to them, (probably) deliberately to increase labour charges.

yep ordered the right wire now had to rip it all apart again and get the part number off the connector block under the dash but im picking it up 2moz so i can finally have footwell lights yay but ive just ordered my carbon wrapping film cant wait to do my interior now
 
Ok been a while since i updated this thread...Been alot going on so not had the time.
Right my car was returned to me on the 2nd of September after she went in for repairs on the 22nd of August. Audi advised it took longer than expected as they couldnt locate my front bumper?!
Are they having a laugh, i gave them a part number and a reg. And its Audi anyway i shouldnt have to give them those details to locate a bumper. Anyway the car came back all seemed fine, other than part fitting,as you can see from the first photo. Later on that evening noticed when opening the passenger door the wing and door are rubbing against each other. Took it back to Audi they had the car for the day and it seemed my problems were resolved (well i thought anyway).

Like to add aswell i was asking for my old bumper back and technically it is still mine. Was advised that the company i instructed requested they recycle all used parts?
Saw a member posted a ebay link for an S3 bumper which happend to be mine, damage in the same location and same colour. How do i know?
I have the only car in Cardiff in Lava Grey that has an S3 front bumper and there are no Lava Grey S3 in Cardiff. The damage was the same down to every detail. And a photo they took from under the front bumper i could see where the nails for my splitter were. Emailed the seller no response as expected. Called Cardiff Audi they didnt have a clue what to say and this matter is still on going....

Anyway dropped my car down to my mate body shop to get the alloys and bonnet sprayed. My friend said its still rubbing but he can sort it out. Where the two parts are rubbing it removed the paint and was making a terrible noise. Anyway phoned Audi and told them i wasnt impressed by my overall experience.
John the body shop manager just apologised and said to bring it in and they will sort it out straight away. Due to be promoted in work cant really take any time off as working on a project. And my work is about 35miles away from Cardiff Audi. So John said to call them on the 30th and they will see when they can fit me in and give me a replacement car.
They were able to take the car in yesterday the 4/10/2010. As they had no replacement cars so they hired me a Ford Focus. Collected my car yesterday the problems seems to have gone but im not holding my breath. They sorted out the missing paint. Took the car to my mate body shop quick he took off the bumper wing and door so i could check over the overall quailty.
Aww seems good...So lets hope this problem doesnt come back. But one question....How can Audi not fit an A3 wing?

Mate, is it just me or is the bonnet and wing quite out of alignment in the first pic?
I'm viewing on an iPhone so maybe it's just me.
 
I should get on to ebay and tell them that the advert is for a stolen bumper and you can prove it !

Anyway glad you got the car sorted (nearly) - just need the fogs fitted !!! :icon_thumright:
 
I would insist AUDI tell you which bodyshop they use - presuming they don't do their own.

Thought about that mate lol, could of just taken it off him then. But by the time i found out, some one bought it! :| I've got to go up Audi later as they are making a decision!
 
Technically the bunper is not yours and belongs to the insurance company unless you bought it back off them. The new owner may well have an arangement with the insurance company
 
Good news went up Audi to see what they decided to do regarding the issue of my missing bumper. I was giving a cheque for £200. They agreed the body shop shouldn't of sold my bumper and should of gave it back to me when I requested it! Let me tell you I was shocked :) but a result. Wondering how did they get to that amount? Well I said that's how much I would of sold it for when a local body shop repaired it. All I had to do was give them the garage audatex code so they could request an estimate. This body shop had photos of my damaged bumper due to me going down there a day after the accident. So overall in pleased but keeping an eye on the wing.

Thats where you would be wrong my good friend. The company I used to deal with my claim doesn't keep or recycle any parts. I also confirmed this with them when I first asked for my bumper back. So the bumper wouldn't belong to the garage so they couldn't go sell it on eBay.

The point is its not yours so what happens to it dosnt really concern you. And iwouldnt shout about joining admiral either, i was insured with them when i smacked the 3.2 and they use a network of completely useless repairers. apart from leaving the bottom wishbone undone the quality of repair is hopeless.
