Hi,

Just retrofitted the electric foldable exterior mirrors.
I've got the ones that also do the auti dimming, but i noticed that the driver glass as dif colour than the one on the passenger side. The auto dimming is only made on the driver side?
One more thing. Sometimes after folding the mirror when i unfold them they don't unfold completly.
Is there anything to be made after the retrofit (beside the conding)? Sinchronize the mirrors?

Regards.

only thing i can help you with is that both driver and passenger door have the dimming feature. my old car had it, and i'm 100% certain of this. best check if the passenger side has been plugged in

I was asking because the mirrors have dif colours...

Did both sides have the connections on the mirror glass for dimming or not, did you check the mirror part numbers to see if they're dimming or not, did you wire this in to work or just expected it to when plugged in, again I state check your wiring pin to pin, nothing is ever that easy & dimming is not a defacto feature on many cars, wiring is not added in all cars incase of requested at factory, any cars I have come across that needed dimming sides had to have wires added from each door module into the car to the rear view mirror.

That folding issue is a common problem, try doing the folding with the engine started/running still & see if folds fine then, usually does this when no engine running & I think as it knows when folded in/out to the max by resistance, I think the somehow the mirror mechanisms maybe is triggering the resistance stop on the one side as I've seen this on few cars including mine & others have reported same, maybe due to low power etc, a different door module/folding mirror are the things to test, but personally most live with it.

Colours dont mean anything, if you post a pic of the mirror glasses then I can tell you straight away if dimming or not.

Hi.

It wasn't me assembling the mirrors... But when i bought them i was told they were auto dimming...
The auto dimming feature is not working because i still don't have interior rear view mirror with that function...
Regarding the unfolding problem, the mirror seems to unfold easly when i help the mirror with my hand... I think it's a power problem also... Because when engine is running this does not happen.
Not an issue. :)

I'll post a picture of each mirror.

Best regards.

Well dimming issue is explained now then, but do show us the glass so can be sure they're ready for it.

Yeah sounds like the same issue then as others & I had as yes the hand assistance works perfectly huh, live with it, just fold with engine on.

It's hard to demonstrate the real colour of the mirrors, but you can tell that the left one is a little more yellowish...

Best regards.

Left one seems to be a blind spot mirror too. Someone will come along to verify soon.

Both mirrors are dimming, the older type though with the black plastic surround, new ones have glass all on face & a kinda dotted line round edge about 6-8mm from edge of glass towards center, once the rear view is wired & sides then should work fine.

UH 1 sec, those mirrors dont even look A3 8P from that pic, show me a pic of the exterior of the mirrors themselves please from a distance although my comments above stand based on the images shown.

It is an A3 right :)

I was about to say, they don't look like A3 mirrors....

Certainly nothing like my auto dimming auto folding ones

I wonder how i got those on my car...:sly::sly:

I have this option and they both dim and they are the same colour...

Can you supply me the PN of those mirros you said withou that sh***i plastic edge? Don't like it eather...

Not atm, but check ebay for 8E A4 & the older A6 mirrors as they used the same ones.
