But here are some pics I took today of my S3 - without realising I took more of the back then the front ! You will have to go here to check them out and only if your stomach's can take it - judging by the previous remarks even a audi chrome badge seems to disgust most of you on these boards.

Any ideas on how to clean up the rear lower spolier - the grey section (whatever you call it) ?

Took car out to Audi Dealers in Coulsdon today to see if I could make a claim on the bubbling paintwork appearing on the roof rail. It seems I will have to take it next week when their usual bodyshop expert is back from hols.
Saw loads of nice new cars and nearly new cars, plenty dechromed and looked neat in the gleaming sunshine. It appears, as has been pointed out to me, the newer shapes are popular dechromed. And the newer shapes do look nice dechromed, but I did prefer the ones I saw there with chrome (don't shoot me !) which just had that extra sparkle and attraction....and I do undertstand I'm the minority on that here on these board.

AG bumper care for grey bit brings it up a treat.

very bling reminds me of some of my dads old rides, wheres the go faster stripes ??? ..........

not my taste but looks a good job

thats something you would see on some crappy old merc or a nissan,

not to my taste mate but its not my car either lol,

the bit on the rear bumper isn't even straight

seriously bro.. it would be a nice car IF you take that chrome off... OR if the chrome is a must get it done properly by a pro as all the chrome is wonky dude,.. NOT a good look on a fiesta let alone an audi....

Oh my... that is a fair bit of chrome! You forgot to do the petrol flap though. :p

Please get rid of that chrome! and the s3 badges on the spoiler, please...im begging you!

Seriously, If that was my car, the chrome would be off quicker than a whores draws.

However, it isn't, so fairplay. With only a few minutes work, you have managed to make your car look like a pound shop special.

i honestly cant believe someone would willingly and infact seriously do that to their car!? i mean, the bit around the lower rear pannel on the back bumper, around the edges you can see gaps where you havent/cant bend the "chrome" around it properly, it isnt straight, you can see joins where you've done the bit around the rear lights, its obvious even from the distance you took the pics from that the front vertical slats arent even cut the same/proper size and it just looks unreal! seriously, for the love of god take it off when you come to sell it otherwise you're going to get very little interest in it at all

i treat the grey bits as if they were bodywork.....as in de tar, clay and then protect with a wax or sealant....after all, they are sprayed just like the body and this will last longer than bumper products

The chrome doesnt deserve a comment as you know by now ;) .....bin it, bin it all!! :)

The chrome strips are very difficult to go round corners. Yeh, I can see it's not perfectly straight on the rear very lower bumper.
I saw a video clip of another silver S3 that had mesh on the lower front bumper on this board - Now there was a clear and bad wonky peice of dodgy fitting if I ever saw and yet guess what....it was all praise for it ??????? My head hurts and not from the chrome !

your head hurts from the nasty bump you must have had prior to fitting all this chrome!!

That s3 was a stripped out track car, the mesh was clearly there to stop crap getting up into the fmic and surrounding areas (as all the lower grills had been removed)
I think the problem with yours is it is an otherwise mint S3, it has obviously been well looked after but many think you have spoilt it with cheap looking chrome tat

Sorry to be blunt mate

OK guys, I'm also voting against this guy's apparent chrome fetish, but if he likes it then that's fine, right? At the end of the day it's his car not yours.

But he doesn't have to look at it when he is driving it! One of us may have to!

(only jokin bud each to there own! dare to be different!)

Quite right "the Doctor". And the next owner can have it chrome free quite easily.
This is my own unique look whilst I have it.

I thought we had already established its looks shat??

what next.....

the front grill looks pretty good but i dont like the rest. Im with the majority here but i dont really like the chrome look.

Its just too much now. The car had the right amount of chrome when it was released.

mate as I said before why dont you at least get the chrome bits done by a pro at least it will then be straight.. I think the majority of people are just trying to tell you that its a real bodge job... spend a bit more money (dont be cheap) and get it done right you even said you got it from LIDL I mean come on now....thats just wrong dude....its your car and your choice but please at the very least make em straight

I think I get the message coming across loud and clear here - you find it a monster. So I will do all your eyes and brains a favour and remove it from the image store and just subject the 'look' to other road users.

As I said I don't want it professionally done, I'm not stupid. it's personal taste that doesn't appeal to the S3 brigade so I want to be able to sell it in the future at some point. I may take that lower rear chrome piece off once I clean it up.
