Hi ASN,

Just trying to generate some feedback from anyone that has remapped their Audi.

I live in the surrey area and I am very interested in getting my (B6) A4 Avant 1.8T 163PS remapped.

There are so many different companies quoting all sorts of gains etc.

I just dont want to use a crappy company & regret it. I like most of us here want to get the most for my £££s, if that means spending £100 more for a proper job then thats cool with me.

Think this thread will be very helpful to alot of members here thinking of remapping.

Would be a big help to have your feedback on your maps.

Any of the info below would be cool.

1. Who did you use
2. What Area
3. Rolling Road included?
4. Power Gained
5. Review
6. Cost

Cheers
Smiffy

hi, i have a a3 1.8t 150 bhp, i took mine to jabbasport in peterborough, it was a stage 2 map, with a rolling road before and after map, i gained 85bhp and 125ftlb of torque, the map cost me £460, its quite expensive i know but its an awesome map. ive used them twice now, dale

Why does power gained matter? surely its how much faster your car is.

Be careful of huge power gains as these are what kill engines.

What you SHOULD be looking for in a remap is a lovely smooth curve .

So if people can bost before and after rolling roads then that could be the answer.

I personaly would use artofspeed.net I went to uni with this guy and he really knows his stuff. he has a pd130 demo car that kicked AMDs up the strip.

1. Badger5 (BILL)
2. Glouc.
3. Car was logged before and after (yet to be RR)
4. BHP gain's not yet known
5. I was very pleased with the service from Badger5 and have used them a few time's now (clutch, exhaust, remap.)
6. Remap cost £312 + vat 10am-16.00 hour's (B5 checked and logged the car twice before and after)

Alot of folk will ask the tuner how much BHP will i get from a remap. I have no idea what my car is pulling so i will not make up a figure of big bhp until the car is on the RR. The first thing you will notice once you have the remap is that the car pull's and feel's much better (smile's all the way home) ..

Nutkin, I agree i'm not going for the biggest BHP gains as it's a shared car for my wife & me (with child!).

Don't want my A4 to be a wild animal through the entire range, I still want an everyday car that when driven calmly still feels as good as it does now.

So just want a nice smooth power increase, better MPG maybe (guess this also is specific to the map)

But when the weekend comes would like a bit more overtaking ooomph.

The standard 160HP is good but needs some help, to become very very good. Am getting excited about it already !

Thanks already chaps. Keep them coming.

a remap,d 160 will never be an animal dont they have a ko3 and a single intercooler IIRC so after a map youll be lookin at 195/200 ish
dont get me wrong you will notice the difference like i did and its well worth the cost

Cheers Jase, was thinking 190-200 is about right. Celtic tuning were quoting about 215 bhp but think that is a bit high ?

Yeah it's a ko3 so not too much to tune! Enough for me though.

Ko4 would be much better but I'm not going there, to many £££s

I won't get that passed the boss, no way.

A tidy map, and a nice cat back exhaust system with some 100mm tips to fill my dual exhaust valance nicely.
That will be my goals for now.

The 100mm will look to big. When i received my exhaust from Awesome Gti they sent 100mm (fuc7ers) i ask for 90mm when ordering.. 90mm

Ain't if funny how 100mm just is NOT the same as 90mm... mugs.

Cheers CMD don't want it to look silly its just my stock tips are a bit like a ***** in a bucket @ the mo.

Will have a search through the posts as if think there are some pics about of different sizes.

Still want to maintain the NON boy racer corsa / nova crew style.

Still thinking about debadging the rear though. What do u lot think ?

I've just got the standard grey 1.8T
No red T or Quattro for me I'm afraid...

It's just a bit annoying to me as people know it's only a 160.

I'd have thought that the vast majority (ie non Audi boffins!) of other folks on the road wouldn't have a clue what the badges on the rear of the cars meant?!

I spent some time at Jabbasport last week talking to them about a remap for my A4 1.8T, and I was impressed with their knowledge, facilities and the range of cars they were working on.

They're going to get my business I think, but then they are my 'local' remapper, and I think that should be a factor so it's easy to pop back if you do have any issues.

Aye you will definately feel the difference with the map, the ko4-15 turbo is a good upgrade for you but like you said expensive.
I agree with you on the pipes and 100mm looks loads better than the standard. this was something i kept meaning to do but never got round to doing it, and as i am now selling my car i never will

Yeah I had loads of plans for my old mk4 golf v5, but hardly did any of them before I traded it in for my four ringed a4 ;-)

Miss the v5 rumble though! but was an auto so was a bit *****, and did not flatter the engine at all. Should have got a manual. Lazy Mrs Smith wanted a point and shoot auto.

Much prefer my avant, much lower stance & more stable than the golf. Was a bit wobbly on the standard sports setup.
Not much in it between the performance though, apart from the low end grunt of the VR5.

Still not sure were I'm gonna go in the surrey area for a remap though?

This would be even better if the derv owners add theres! :)

Go for it the more the better. Not just a 1.8T thread.

Just be good to add whether or not they are DERV only remap company.

The more answers the more useful 1 thread is instead of 10 different ones.

Search tool is not soo good for me @ pulling off relevant info.

hey guys on the same subject, im lookin to get a remap on a 1.8t, am situated in medway north kent. any recomendations? i know amd is local but is quite pricey too.

AMD are good and from what i understand they log the car before the remap, logging the car is a must before any remap.. All tuner's should do this.
