Erm...HELLO ! i mentioned this awhile back but neither you or bill took the idea up.
I would be more than up for it.
See how "happy " JBS rollers are

When Bill gives the go ahead mate I will be all over it :icon_thumright:

<tuffty/>

APr not fly by nights of course not... however....
log the timing and fueling and see the 0.75 fueling and CF's >6 - its there - All stg2 have been the same in this respect

This is'nt a dig at APR, they do good work, BUT, in the context of my post you have quoted back at me, I have yet to see a k04 car (of anyones tune) make >300lbft on my rollers, hence the offer, bring it down and run it.. I am genuinely interested to gather info on what these cars actually do vs what others "say/claim" they do. If they make >300lbft, brilliant, subject to the worry about rods of course.
you seem to think i am the OP? i have not mentioned my torque figures... so what would you reference it by?
as said it would be interesting to see shanes figures on another roller whether it be.. guinevere/lancelot or merlin etc .......

are you seriously telling me they are great because of what they used to charge? please tell me you aren't that deluded. And how can you cross compare their generic maps with that of the race teams? seriously Dave you need a reality check fella....if you think their stage 1 or 2 for that matter doesnt have parameters which limit the franchisee then you need to get to a beach and bury your head in shame......you sound like you've been 'sold' so i'll leave it there - somebody may tell you later in life that being open minded is a part of growing up, your choice if you choose to listen.

Awesome - i am actually impressed that you have responded, not many tuners stick their necks out...... i'm sure you will completely understand that opinions are formed based upon the facts in front of you and historically your runs (on Audi-Sport) always seem to be much more generous than the next tuner, the last RR day i went to at Prodrive in Manc, there were a few there who had the same unprompted opinion.... if that isnt true then i apologise but as you know, bad news travels faster than good news and in this instance it isnt currently in your favour
Have you got gremlins running round your head? you dont half read things in a weird way...lol
i quoted apr cost on mine not because it must be good... but for that price it would be unpopular...not many fans
Who the hell is comparing generic maps with race teams???? where does the technology come from?? it comes from the track, and tamed down for joe public, a track car would be un-drivable as a daily driver even you should know that?

your quote: "Better to be thought of as an 'idiot' than to open your mouth and remove all doubt"
practice what you preach ......

It was'nt a question of not taking the idea up.
the dyno is new to me, and its installation, training, and debugging has continued these past few weeks, getting both familiar with its running, and where cars need to be strapped for reliable results etc.. We are there now, and there is rarely a day when the dyno is'nt being used on someones car. Once we are out of the holiday period, I will happily host a dyno day for here. SCN have 1st dibs as thats my 'home' forum, but others thereafter will be held for sure.

I have done enough qualifying of std cars to have confidence in the numbers its producing being realistic... What I dont have an answer for is why in respect to torque figures, my dyno reads less than a lot of others, but bhp is pretty much on the money on std spec cars. (I know load is a factor in torque/boost development, but even when adjusting the ramp rates, and seeing the same boost, the results are similar..)

regards
bill

nor have I... you misread the reply?

Wow, i thought a stage 2 would see you more than 264bhp tbh. I'm doing 258bhp at the mo on my stage 1, and that's with a boost leak!

We've seen plenty of cars hit above and beyond that level of torque on the KO4's, Around 5 or 6 of the guys on the TT-Forum.
maybe TT owners know how to eek out more torque out of a standard K04 but I have never seen them figures

Thanks for the reply :icon_thumright:

ok ok i will quote you seeing as this is so mentally taxing........

'dont forget apr remaps are not cheap, i think mine was £600 + for stage 1 a few years ago' this is a statement which assumes that they must be good because they were expensive.
The rest of your message is self explanitory and i dont see where i am misquoting you in all fairness.....

'i dont think apr would have got where they are buy treading carefully, tuning houses need to constantly develop to get the respect and trust, not just from joe bloggs but the racing scene, and if that means pushing the engines they will, i think most have a clause in the paperwork saying they are not liable for engines vapourising unless it was a direct fault in the map'
My point is that the race maps will be in no way the same as the 'retail' maps, that is exactly how you are comparing the two (even though the quote above contradicts your post further up).... the race maps will be 100% custom, the road maps will be generic and geared in such a way that the people applying them do not have the same remit to 'mess things up' and so tarnish the APR name....protection in effect much like what every other tuner does

as said wey up the board - to which you saw fit to reply- here you go 'APR like Revo are extremely large, but in my experience larger companies like these tend to air on the side of caution, they are large because they dont tread too close to the line in terms of reliability....so to see rod busting torque figures like these, you kind of have to ask yourself question.'

i think i do practice what i preach...another example of you not reading and acknowledging what you have read

i realy hope i never meet you in person

I hope that's not supposed to be some kind of open threat, as it will NOT be tolerated here.

I have met Tim, and he is a nice guy, outgoing with his own opinion but hey, i aint perfect.

If this thread wonders 1 micron from topic it will be closed and the ban stick coming out. It's not a threat it's a fact

As you were
